WR Kamryn Babb (Official Thread)

Damn I hope he can shake the stupid injury bug
Congrats to Kamryn!!

Hoping Kam can have a memorable healthy senior year like Johnnie Dixon and wreak havoc on the B1G. Lord knows we will need him and his leadership through our gauntlet of a schedule in 2022

I kind of thought his playing days were over...

Considering depth you might be right. Otherwise be great if he could contribute
Even if we didn't have the depth we have, I just don't know how realistically we could expect much from someone with such an injury history. I wish him the best though, as I was looking forward to his talent when we signed him

He is credited with 1 tackle for 2020. I think he was on some kick/punt "special teams". I hope he gets fully recovered from the injury, the doctors clear him to play, and he earns some playing time in 2022. It would be a shame if he ended up being a trivia answer: Who is the only 2 time captain of the football team whose only stat is 1 tackle?

Around this time last year, the Buckeye receiver suffered his fourth ACL tear in five years and considered ending his football career. But today, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day announced that Babb is "full go" and is expected to make an impact on the Buckeye offense.

Hope he stays healthy and has a "monster year", he deserves it.[/QUOTE]

Kamryn Babb working back from spring injury scare, 'bump in road'

Given the incredibly rotten injury luck, Ohio State might always fear the worst when Kamryn Babb feels a little pain.

But it also makes the positive news seem even better when the Buckeyes get it.

After another apparent knee injury suffered in practice last week, the graduate wide receiver isn’t likely to take part much for the rest of spring practices — if at all. But Babb doesn’t appear to have any long-term concerns from the latest setback in a career that has been relentlessly plagued by a string of health issues, which was a huge sigh of relief for the Buckeyes after watching him thrive for roughly half of camp.

Fortunately this injury doesn't appear to be season ending, etc.

Ohio State’s Kamryn Babb aiming for first catch after overcoming 5 knee surgeries

“I know I’m Kamryn Babb. Yes, I play football but I’m so much more than that and so are each of you guys sitting here today,” he said in front of a group of kids at the Greater Columbus Sports Commission Youth Camp.

Babb’s message about sports starts with stops.

“I remember all the pain, all the heartache and just going through drills and everything I can’t believe I’ve actually overcome all of that,” Babb said.
.

.
But Babb’s plan remains to take the field for his senior season.

“There’s always those negative thoughts that come in your mind,” he said. “You have those questions ‘Will it happen again? Am I good enough?’ I haven’t played in so long and really my last game I played in was technically my junior year of high school.”

Babb says family and faith have guided his perseverance.

“If you guys remember one thing: Never give up,” he told the kids. “Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t do anything because you never know where life can take you.”
