I know no one likes Zack Smith, but I always thought his receivers did a great job at blocking. And I recall several times seeing the broadcasters highlight their blocking during games. I will agree Hartline is a better overall WR's coach tho

Definitely agree that the WR's have blocked pretty well since UFM has been here, albeit that some years that didn't pick up until mid-late season. On the bolded, while I am inclined to agree, I will give it another year before I make that leap. While the WR group is playing at a very high level, the WR's are also by and large Zack Smith recruits that he coached for 3-4 years. Make no mistake that Hartline has done an amazing job taking over the reigns in such a short time frame and you can't take that away from him. But when you inherit Dixon, McClaurin, Campbell, Mack, Victor, etc., your chances of success are pretty high. I have seen a lot of growth from the group for sure, but some of that has to be residual carryover. How much? Not sure yet.

Anyways, on Terry, he definitely has made huge strides in his game all around and it is exciting to watch.

Terry McLaurin among those who changed culture among Ohio State receivers

Terry McLaurin will play this week in his home state against the first team that believed in him enough to offer a scholarship.

McLaurin didn’t come close to accepting Purdue’s offer, even though it is his mom’s alma mater. But it meant a lot to him. It verified what he believed he could become, even if others were skeptical.

Heck, even Ohio State put the wide receiver through the wringer before extending a scholarship. McLaurin was never the athletic prodigy. Yes, he was fast, but he grew late.

But what McLaurin has always possessed — excellent character, an embrace of work and selflessness — has enabled him to rise steadily. The senior is now revered as a team leader, with status as a two-time captain as proof.

“An A-plus guy,” Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said.
