WR Torrance Gibson (Green Bay Blizzard)

With an athletic quarterback, one of the "progressions" is "run". The last thing you want to see is an athletic quarterback looking lost in the pocket, ignoring running lanes, trying to find his fourth receiver.

I agree with that, but many times Tp's second progressions was to run, and same with Braxton. Running should be an option, but we should want a QB like Troy smith turned into, not a guy more like a Dennis Dixon who primarily runs. Braxton, TP, and Torrance aren't RBs, and they aren't build to take hits like one either. In the aureus game last year, Braxton as knocked out because of him running, most of his injuries have been from running. I'd much have run as a last option, and that's something that comes over time. And Gibson will have to learn that in college, as his athleticism will only get him so far. Look at jameis Winston, he has as much athleticism as any player mentioned. But chooses to pass first, and will run if he has to. Using his athleticism if need be but his arm as his primary option.

One reason they pursued Deshaun Watson so hard this year.

I'm sure, and that's why our second option was Kyle Allen. And we ended up getting collier, who's a poor mans Watson. Athletic enough to get first downs and yards with legs but will look to make the pass first. More like an Alex smith type QB than a josh Gordon or Tim tebow. I'd prefer our QB to be a guy that relies more on his arm than legs, as a QB who runs primarily is far more susceptible to injuries, like Braxton has been(and tebow took some very big hits as well, but was a lot bigger at 230+). If we were get Gibson, than I'd hope we could get another QB commit thats a better passer, and our coaches could work with Gibson more on his footwork and accuracy.

I'm partial to Brandon Wimbush, myself. Haven't seen much of Lorenzo Nunez, I know the staff is high on him. But I do agree with you. I would like a QB who is pass first with enough athleticism to be effective enough in the read-option game. We're gonna have to so many playmakers at the other skill positions. Just get them the ball.

And that's what I would want our QB of the future to think and know. We have talent to surround you with. It doesn't have to be all on you. Get the ball to guys like dontre, jalin Marshall, Curtis Samuel, parris Campbell, terry mclaurin, johnnie Dixon, Noah brown, EGW, etc, etc.
