WR Torrance Gibson (Green Bay Blizzard)

Such a curious case here. I wonder if he has progressed at all since HS. And he has obviously shown maturity type issues. So, of course I'm thrilled if he stays on the team because he has big time gifts. But if he doesn't make a Michael Thomas type commitment I'm not sure it's such a benefit. Looking at our scholly crunch, and the '17 and '18 class momentum it's a fair question. What's he going to bring to the team? You can bet Urb wants to keep him as do I. But you can also just guess the kind of honest conversation Urb will have with him. I'm sure it's sincere and heart felt, but stern. I believe Thomas had family that was fully committed to helping get him on track. Wonder if TG has anyone Urb can turn to for that? It's a major factor in getting someone's head on straight. Just like a 3rd uncle can derail a kid, a solid supporter holding their feet to the fire can be a coaches best friend.

What he possesses is physical gifts no other WR has and that includes people coming as freshman. He has things you just can't teach with his length (6 foot 4 and long arms) and scary speed.

Even with the numbers crunch you bring a talent like him in. IMO he was a big part of our offense before being suspended and I think the way he was targeted in the spring game shows that.

Not every path is perfect and besides when we hold gameday next year vs pedo they'll run a segment on him and his struggles.

I would think if Gibson was even the least bit of a PITA or wasn't working hard, Urban would use this opportunity to part ways. Urban wanting him back tells me he must be taking care of his business or Urban would have told him Adios.
This for sure. Urban historically lays out a clear plan to make your way back (as any good leader does). I would be shocked if Torrence didn't have a list or plan. I presume if he's coming back he has committed to himself and his team whatever was deemed necessary to achieve success.

I have no idea if it means anything but Gibson is listed in the OSU directory. Not sure if he was prior to today or if that really means he is back in school. Just thought I'd check.

He was still in the system from his previous enrollment - student information stays in the directory for 6 months after leaving the university.
