It's been awhile since i've watched a PPV and last night reminded me why. Royal Rumble was mostly awful (along with dragging out way too long)
I thought the 3 women’s matches were fantastic. I could have done without any of the men’s matches at all. I’d say the talent in the men’s side lies in the younger guys that aren’t top guys yet...the main event scene has never been this weak.

The Bork-Finn match wasn’t bad, just fucking tired of the same outcome every time when it comes to Bork. And we won’t see him in another match until WM.

The men’s Royal Rumble was fucking AWFUL. Women’s Royal Rumble was 10x better. And Kacy Catanzaro!!! So hot.

RIP King Kong Bundy. The cage match at WM II was one of the worst matches ever, but he did good work with Andre the Giant and in WCCW, and he was surprisingly agile for a guy well north of 4 bills. The way Finkel would say “Kiiing...Kooong...BUNDY!” was one of the coolest intros.

Sadly, 61 is probably a pretty good run for a dude that big. And it's about 85 in pro wrestler years regardless. RIP.

saw a Mid-South promotion at Cincinnati Gardens. went all the time. saw Flair, Piper, Dreamboat, Road Warriors, The American Dream, and some lessor knowns who I loved like Wahoo McDaniel and Jimmy and Johnny Valiant...
I must have been 11 or 12 (82-83ish) and saw Bundy that night. he was a heel and it was during an era where kayfabe was never broken. after the show us kids hung around the railing outside the heel locker room entrance. somebody pulled back the curtain and we saw Bundy standing in the back in street clothes laughing and drinking a beer with I am certain was Arn Anderson. my friends ansd I started yelling his name. he looked up and went instantly back into character. “Go home, brats! dont make me come up there”...then he smilles and winks at us and somebody closer drops the curtain back. have never forgotten that.

Man, just heard about this. As a pre-teen in the 80's, everybody was into WWF. I always rooted for the bad guys, and Bundy and Piper were my favorite wrestlers.
