WStripes and Mass JG Speculation (Split)

Who backs up Lendale White right now? Do they suck? I'm reasonably sure there are other RB's on the roster that know the offense and aren't planning to spend the remainder of their college careers on scout team. Will Pete just tell them to transfer if Gwaltney commits?

things can obviously change after he meets with JT

Per this weeks print edition of BSB - "All of the head coaches have already made their in-home visits with Gwaltney, save for USC head coach Pete Carroll."

The article also makes reference to his desire to join his new team by July 1st so he can "learn the offense and get in the weight room". Unfortunatley, that lines up with Sanchez's comments.

Wstripes, I am inferring from your post that he is telling USC that he is coming and that he just wants to do it on ESPN. That does not bode well for us since your sources seem to be spot on. So either he is telling both schools what they want to hear and OSU still has a shot or he is stringing OSU coaches along and already has made up his mind for USC. If it is the second then I am not too thrilled about the way he is handling this and tells something about his character. Then again I am a nobody buckaholic on a website, so what I think doesn't mean squat

he's waiting to announce on ESPN...Right now I'm very confident he's going to SC...but things can obviously change after he meets with JT

Did you see osugrad21's post a page back that referred to an article which said, "Pete Carroll was in to visit JG yesterday. He said he liked what PC had to say, but the visit did not put the Trojans on top."? If USC is not on top after a personal visit from PC himself, then I wouldn't be feeling all that confident if I were a USC fan...in fact, I'd be somewhat concerned.

Buckeyenation, not sure what to make of your post. The reason I ask is because a)I know WSTRIPES has been spot on historically and respect his information b)I want to make sure I understand the "jist" of his message and not jump to conclusions. Is that not alloweable course of action on PB?

I have never been negative towards Stripes or other USC posters. Matter of fact defended Stripes on Bucknuts a couple days ago because people where jumping on some of the quality USC posters that contribute positively to the board.

handwritten letters just seem like the person took more time to write them...with that being said I still think that WVU is out of it...I don't understand how someone would go to a school where they would have to wait a few years to even get a chance to show their stuff...but then again what do I know...Honestly we know nothing about what this kid is going to do...he could be playing games with tOSU, usc, or even both of us for all we know...he has the spotlight and hes taking full advantage of it...I can't say that i blame him though because I would probably be doing the same thing...but im gonna think positive here and hope that he is going onto ESPiN to announce that he is coming here...

GO BUCKS!!!

wstripes, I have to ask you a question about White/Bush. How many all-purpose yards has White had and how many all-purpose yards has Bush had the past two years? Even with White going down, do you actually see a true freshman in your backfield with the talent you have? With all that production. We have seen 1 of the three and he couldn't stay healthy and I believe if Haw was all that he wouldn't have redshirted. We would not have continually put a RB in that could not produce and leave one on the bench that was better. We used four RB to try and get the job done last year and I think the most any of them had was around 300-400 yards. It may not have been all there fought, but come on. Another question I have is in your opinion which school do you think is better for him and why? I know you are a USC fan, but please give your honest opinion. As always thanks for your input.

Lendale is a power back....we don't have another power back.....I'm just stating what I've been told..SC didn't take a RB last year....You'd think SC would be after another RB if they didn't think they had JG wrapped up....not taking a back for two years would be pretty dumb imo....Hey, who knows, maybe he's telling the same thing to both schools.

Jason.....just confused or attempting to confuse??...

I know little about the recruiting game; be it from the point of view of the competing coaches, the recruit himself, the recruiting services, or ...the fan.
I would only hope that Jason, if in fact he has decided on a given school,
has called the other schools to let them know his decision has been made.
Those other schools can concede the kid is gone , redirect their energy, (while keeping news of the loss within the program.) Jason can then have
his moment on ESPN with only the fan waiting with heavy breath.
On the other hand, , if Jason is being duplicitious ie.lying to those schools that he is still open to choosing their school while, in fact , preparing for the recruiting show......I'm sorry, that is wrong. Of course, I suspect i will never know. The only ones to know would be Jason and his chosen school. If they are comfortable with that game i begrudgingly grant them their play.
