Heidi Klum, Seal become engaged on Canadian glacier

Cologne, Germany (dpa) - Top German model Heidi Klum and the British singer Seal are engaged to be married, Klum announced Tuesday on her website.
She said the pair became engaged shortly before Christmas at a glacier at Whistler, a city in the western Canadian province of British Columbia.
"We flew to this beautiful place in a helicopter on the day before Christmas Eve," she said. "It was a once-in-a-lifetime event."
Klum's father, Guenther, confirmed the engagement to Express, a newspaper in Cologne, Germany.
After the quick visit in temperatures of minus-6 degrees, the freshly engaged couple flew to warm Mexico, where Seal owns a house, the newspaper said.
Just in December, Klum, 31, said her relationship with Seal, 41, has not progressed to the point of talk of marriage, but the model, who gave birth to daughter, Leni, in May, said she wanted more children.
She also said then that she and her partner had a clear idea of their Christmas and New Year's plans: "A mixture of hot and cold, skiing and sun-bathing. But where - that remains a secret."
