Yep. As it stands now, there's not enough info in that story to lead me to believe that something should come of this. But this is yahoo, and they're very good at breaking these stories. Stay tuned it looks like.

The way the report reads the source saw first hand Tressel's reaction to receiving the tip? That should narrow the field drastically. Otherwise, the source has a source or the reporting is sloppy.

They was a lot of smoke (rumors, teasers from radio and sport announcers) before the Oregon issue came to light. There has been no such "conversation in the wind" regarding JT. My guess is that what we have seen is all Yahoo has and they are hoping that if this is true (and I don't think it is) someone else will come forward to corrobrate.

This has a lot of he said, he said in it. The burden of proof with the NCAA will absolutely reside with the source and that means some type of evidence that JT did NOT pursue it.

Can you imagine how many people actually come up with things, maybe not of this nature, but stuff in general when they talk to JT? It's not like this is a city that has multiple other options sports-wise.

The worst part is that in the eyes of Buckeye haters (read: most people outside Ohio) this is a done deal. If the NCAA doesn't find anything or pursue it, then we'll just have gotten a special favor. Again, if this were ESPN, I could give less of a shit. But this is Y! Sports. These guys don't run w/ bullshit.

Honestly, I have a more difficult time believing this story is 100% fabricated than I do the Tress has a major problem on his hands.

When was the last time Yahoo dug into one and it was a complete lie?
