You know what still makes me smile all these years later?

You never come back from Copperhead Road
That we tore down the goal posts in 1996 after clinching the Big Ten title by beating IU...

...in Bloomington.

We stormed their field and took their goal posts.

Think about that...and try not to smile.

I'll tell you what: We might bicker amongst our selves, we might have other fan bases whining about our behavior...we might even have more than our share of prickly fans...but here is the deal:

We have our team's back.

Unequivacally.

It is like our sister..we can talk about her..but shut your f'n mouth if you don't root for the S&G.

Thick or thin...we are loud, we are proud. Sometimes brash, sometimes perhaps even a bit light on class..but always, always Buckeye through and through. Every program has their share of idiot fans and I don't honestly think we have more or less than the rest... we are just the loudest group at the party so people talk about us.

We weather the criticisms with our hearts on our sleeves..sometimes we might be a bit thin skinned..but we have been in the cross hairs for DECADES. Who else can say the same and still back their team like OSU fans do? Really...who else has received the coverage OSU has...both good and bad over decades..and can say they only rallied from the criticisms?

Heartache? You bet your ass...but we don't fold.

Games in Tempe are home games. We chant O-H-I-O loud enough to be heard on the game broadcast in Bloomington, East Lansing, and even Ann Arbor last year...and yeah...on a good day...a really good day..we might take their goal posts as souviners.

So the media hopes to dismiss us again...I think a win this Saturday is their worst nightmare.....and I hope we disappoint them by showing up and getting it done. But here is the thing..here is what they don't seem to understand: even if we lose another big game...it doesn't matter what they lob our way...because they can't shake my appreciation for my alma matter.

As I have said before: I retain enough arrogance from my time on campus at THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY to dismiss the bandwagoners and the haters. Frankly...their opinions, misconceptions, and even brilliant insights won't affect the luster I see when I look at this program. It is tribal....and we are like no other.

PSU at night? Your damn right... bring it!

Well, when you factor in the CPD, Franklin Co. Sheriff's Dept., the German Shepherds, bear mace, bean bag rifles, our over-engineered industrial reinforced goal posts that have proven they can support the weight of 16 students, and the fact they're usually greased (the goal posts and the students) it's not surprising that it's easier for OSU fans to tear down the goal posts in Bloomington than it is in Columbus.

Plus the fact that they'll never expect it this weekend!

Heck yes. I am so ready to prove the media, the BCS and all the other NCAA teams wrong by showing up and proving that we aren't the same team we we're the last 2 national championship flops. It's not fair because we have been given this stupid assumption that just because we went to the national championship twice and lost causes us to be deemed overrated. IT'S NOT EASY IN THE FIRST PLACE TO GET INTO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ANYWAYS. IT TAKES A GOOD TEAM TO GET INTO THAT GAME. It's a different year, different quarterback, different players, louder fans, and a different offense play scheme (somewhat). I'm ready to silence the haters, critics, and those DAM MICHIGAN FANS. GO BUCKS!!!! :oh::io:
