Now 68, Kern lives with Nancy, his wife of 45 years and a former Rose Bowl princess whom he met there in 1968.

And the romance might not have developed if not for a pay phone on the 9th floor of Smith Hall. One of the pay phones was "defective" would refund your money on long distance calls..........:biggrin:
