Your opinion of the FOX BCS show last night?

please tell me Barry Alvarez and Charles Davis aren't calling the game...

***wonders how difficult it would be to rip the sound effects from the DVD, and insert Paul Keels' radio broadcast***

Chris Rose and Jimmy Johnson will do all the in-studio fare: pregame, halftime, and postgame.

Both the Fiesta Bowl and BCS Championship games are indeed being done by Thom Brennaman, Alverez and Davis, with Chris Myers on the sidelines.

The Sugar Bowl is being done by Kenny Albert, Terry Bradshaw, and Howie Long in the booth, with Zelasko on the sideline.

The Orange Bowl has Terry Donahue and Pat Haden, with Laura Okmin on the sideline.

The Rose Bowl stays with ABC.

Has Charles Davis ever sat in a TV studio before? His wooden delivery and his 'here's my made for TV smile I've been practicing in front of the mirror at home for the past three months since I got this gig' all were a mere sideshow to his best Peter Brady imitation. When your ESPN counterpart, Lou Holtz, is more articulate than you, you've got major issues!
Hey, now! Charles Davis is one of my personal favorites. I think it's because he doesn't feel the need to be over the top like, say, Chris Berman or Stuart Scott. He delivers good insights in a grammatically correct manner. Plus I like him on the Golf Channel!

I like Brennaman,(can't wait for the Reds games next year!), Chris Myers is ok. Barry is as boring as dirt. Bradshaw and Howie are funny, however, they should do a sitcom rather than talk about a game. Zelasko is good but after that, fire the rest. Put Pat and Barry together and they could cure insomnia. Fox's overproduced telecasts suck as well. My biggest problem is the time for the BCS games, Fox primetime is too damn late, some people have to work for
God's sake!!!!!!!

While I thought that the selection show sucked, I honestly wasn't surprised nor couldn't care less.

What I do care about is what Fox is going to do to the bowl games. IMO, they have fucked up every sport that they have become associated with. The gimmicks, sound effects, and graphics do not enhance the sporting event but rather take away from it. To Fox, it seems that everything needs that over the top crap that they are (in)famous for. To me, major sporting events do not need that since there is enough drama as is.

I wish the BCS NC game were on ABC.

Fox has been awful for as long as I can remember. I always refused to watch any games they broadcast because of all the fucking bells and whistles they had on the screen. All that garbage literally took up half the screen. I would resort to watching a lesser game on a different network to avoid that shit.

why did they announce the title game in the middle of the broadcast, didn't really seem well produced or anything, it sucked badly

They pretty much had to announce it before the rose bowl because that would be a dead giveaway of who made the title game. If they announced the rose bowl first with Michigan vs. USC everyone would know that Florida made the championship game. Same with the bowl tie in for the SEC, once they show that LSU is in that bowl, everyone knows Florida is in the title game.
