Zach Smith (Official Thread)

I think the exploration into Zach Smith's life went way too far a long time ago. The dildo stuff... the inability to pay bills... none of that stuff had jack squat to do with what he was accused of and is wholly irrelevant - save for being character assassination perpetrated by McFuckstick.

Completely agree with this. McMurphy's actions were far beyond those of an unbiased reporter, and were far more close to professional wrestling heel--from "reporting" on ZS's Amazon order info (which was both irrelevant and mischaracterized) to claiming that Urban's apology "affirms" CS's account of events, McMurphy elected to turn this into a mud-slinging character assassination in which he gets to create facts and jump to conclusions where his journalism has failed.

Has anyone...anyone corraborated Courtney’s DV claims? Friends, parents, law enforcement?

Honestly asking. Not sure OSU’s investigation even directly addressed it (or avoided it for legal).

Btw, on another note- this guy needs some help. I’m with him in his anger and agreed with his initial outburst today, but the people he is lashing out against right now (Brenda Tracy) will not help him look good. Zach is in a bad way right now.

Is that wrong when you have been accused of such violent things and you didn't do it? And lose your job and potential jobs? Your kids cry at home when the other bullies at school tease them. DO YOU KNOW HOW THAT FEELS? If that happened to me and my kids, posting facts to defend my character and things that are affecting kids is bad, then I am that Zach.

There is a better place and MUCH better way to do it. Like court as an example of a better place. But if you insist on doing it via Twitter, writing like an adult rather than like a 14-year old would be an excellent start. More level responses and waaaay less histrionics.

I believe that answer is a resounding No, and in fact the opposite has been corroborated by multiple people, including her own mother.

I don't think OSU weighed in on it, instead tangentially remarking that there was reason for the Meyer's to not believe CS was being truthful.

Absolutely correct.

Oh...you mean like the "better" way like Coach Meyer apology to CS and then get twisted by McShitty that is a confirmation that CS was right all along?? You are not in Zach's shoes, and better be thankful for that, so don't act like you would be calm in that situation.

Do you seriously believe he is helping his cause right now? How many people are going to see these tweets and think, "yeah, that guy seems totally level-headed and would never ever lay a finger on his wife." So, assuming this doesn't help his cause at all, what is the fucking point?

We're all upset on how this turned out, just have different ways of expressing ourselves, and how we do so.

And... I guess while I'm on it...

And this is more a general observation than a specific retort to anyone here.... but... we know ZS and CS were going through a divorce, and from the looks of it ... a nasty one at that...

I am not at all troubled that Meyer cared about Zach and his predicament.... whether that is because of some life debt owed Earle or just because Urban cares for the people he works with every day.... you know... like our own co-workers and bosses do for us, and we do for them...

Likewise, and I speak from experience, unfortunately, on this part - I am not the least bit surprised that going through a divorce was hard on the Smith's, including Zach.. and that he missed work or was late for meetings... Are you serious? Look, full disclosure... when I was going through my divorce, I wasn't hitting on all cylinders in my professional life.... I missed work - called in sick - when I wasn't physically sick.. just mentally drained.... I asked for some leeway from my boss and he understood.. because... you know... he's a fucking human being who understands that life sometimes can be fucked up. That's all I see in the Meyer Smith relationship ... Perfectly OK to say Meyer went too far in that... it's an opinion, and not one which cannot be reasonably argued and supported... but... it's not the "no brainer" some people like to think it is.

We don't have an actual appreciation of the real relationships these people have... I mean.. DI coaches in particular... these guys are with each other virtually non stop, virtually year round. You don't think they develop relationships and care for one another? First sign of trouble they're just supposed to cut bait? Sure.. that's a possibility.. but.. not really a realistic take....

All that said, I am in the camp that thinks Urban hung on to Zach too long... but... that's just my opinion man... I'm neither Zach nor am I Urban.. and I can see relationships in my own personal life where I'd be inclined to take more risk for some people than some others. I don't anticipate I'm unique in that respect.
