St. Edward junior Delvon Roe said Sunday that he will soon choose to play men's college basketball in Chapel Hill, N.C. or East Lansing, Mich.
"It's narrowed down to two schools, North Carolina and Michigan State," Roe said. "I'm very excited. I would have never thought three or four years ago that I would be making a commitment to one of the top programs in the country."
Roe, a 6-8 forward, said he will probably announce his decision "a week or two after [St. Edward's] season ends."

apologies for chasing the off topic subthread, but in 2005 the Big Ten landed 5 top 100 players.

In 2006 it was 12.

In 2007 we hit 20.

So far in 2008 5 of 13 committed players are heading to the Big Ten.

Of course, Matta is single-handedly responsible for a big chunk of this change.

For all the hype that he has gotten after a great summer he was not very impressive against Moeller and for that matter neither was the St. Ed's team that was suppossed to be ranked #5 in the country...

Not sure what UNC is bringing in next year or in the 08 class, but Roe might struggle to see a whole lot of minutes his freshmen season...

Well I have only seen Roe twice, and havent seen Buford live...

I still think you could put them at 2a 2b, but Roe isnt a 1 in done type lead his team to the final four type player...

I agree with jotis that Mullens is quickly becoming the best prospect in the state...

Yeah, Roe only led his team to a victory in the BeachBall classic and an undefeated regular season before narrowly being beaten in the state semis by a nationally ranked Moeller basketball team...it is obvious that he is going to struggle. :confused:

Is that the same sentiment that you wrote in Kosta's thread after 13 pts., 4 rebs., and a loss to another GCL team? Uhh...no. Roe is going to be fine. I'm not going to knock him after a tough loss like that. The best GCL teams always make good players have off games in the playoffs.

Not the first time that I have seen Roe...But am is there anything wrong with saying that he didnt show me anything along with his team...

I never posted anything in KK thread...As for Roe vs. KK Roe has some better players on his team and KK is the main cog on the Glenoak team and they put a guy on the front and backside of him in the zone and keyed on him all game.

Find where I said that Roe wouldnt be fine...I did say he might struggle finding pt at UNC as a frosh and that I was unimpressed with him and his team...What is wrong with me saying that?

Roe still on OSU radar

I know I know you guys cannot stand the scout board but was just wondering if anyone here has heard that Roe may still be looking at OSU. If Cook, Conley, and Oden all leave before the 08 class comes in there would be room for Delvon as well.
