'08 OH TE/DE Kevin Koger (Michigan signee)

The only time OSU and that other team are underdogs is when they face each other, or possibly in a bowl game, THAT IS IT!!

Pretty much the truth, which is why I had no idea why the guy called Michigan an under-dog program. UM is favored in nearly every game they play, same with OSU.

As for Koger, I think this kid could've went out and gotten offers from USC, Miami, Florida, FSU, LSU, etc., etc. if he really wanted them. I think he knew all along that it was going to be Ohio State or Michigan for him.

I just wanted to add a couple thoughts.

Second, I think utgrad is a bit off base on thinking that UM will be the underdog in this year's Game. Obviously a lot can change between now and November, but UM has 4 year starters at QB and RB plus a star LT (Long) and star WR (Manningham). Plus the game is up there. They will likely be favored by 3-7 points.

Well if we must play them in Ann Arbor, I will follow Woody's lead on buyin gas to leave that dreadful state.

>It is true that the late Ohio State coach Woody Hayes, who did more to pump up the negative feelings in the rivalry than any man, refused to fill up his car in the state of Michigan.

"I'll tell you why we don't," Hayes said, according to the seminal book, "Woody Hayes and the 100-Yard War." "It's because I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan. We'll coast and push this goddam car to the Ohio line before I give this state a nickel of my money!"

The Game will have enough energy on it's own to power us home.

> It is true that Hayes sometimes bunked his team in Toledo on the night before a game in Ann Arbor so the Buckeyes could sleep on Ohio ground.

Toledo has a nice hotel in Sylvania just before the state line.

> It is true that in 1970, a local judge in Columbus dismissed a charge of obscenity against a defendant arrested for wearing a T-shirt that said, "F--- Michigan" because the message "accurately expressed" local feelings about the university and the state.

Just a few facts to remind the masses that this is Buckeye Planet and not Wolverine Asteroid.

7/2

From the UM site...says a Toledo Blade report states that a decision could come any day. Rest of the article is old quotes rehashed.

Look back through the thread for Buckskin's post on 7/1 for the Blade article that is being referenced...

From Buckskins article.
toledoblade.com -- OSU, UM want Whitmer end

"Koger is a 6-4, 225-pound tight end/defensive end who coaches from both Big Ten powerhouses are certain is still growing and developing. They are enamored with his speed, athletic ability and versatility. So a spirited tug-o-war over his services has been going on for months - a conflict that Koger expects to end very soon when he chooses to outfit himself in either scarlet and gray, or maize and blue.
I want to make my choice sometime in July," Koger said Friday."

This is a pretty impressive collection of TEs in Ohio. I wonder how many other times a state has produced 4 TEs that are 4 stars and above.

Yeah, I agree. That is pretty dang amazing. I've never seen something like that before. Do you guys know the date in which Koger will be announcing? Or is just "just some time in July"?

With UM getting the last unofficial, will that work towards their favor or is everything so even something like that won't matter much?

Has it been stated what date each teams unofficial will take place? Or did KK just mention that Mich will have the last visit?
