I hear you, but who wants to play for a terrible team? He could've stayed with Penn St if he wanted to play on a bad team.

I don't think one game is going to make a difference

It's not so much a terrible team, but a team of what is likely far more talented kids who were under-prepared through off season conditioning, fall practice, game prep and in-game adjustments... Translation: poor coaching. Now, in that context, it's not just one game, it's far more than that... and who really thinks they will maximize their developmet under those conditions?

It seems to me that Dorian is looking for distance and being comfortable with the coaching staff. Our history doesn't seem to really impress him, imo. People keep bringing up how bad Pitt is and how he'd do better at osu, but weve lost out on a number of kids to schools that have less history. Every recruit doesn't want to be a part of factory, some want to big a big fish in a small pond.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be a big fish in a small pond; however, in Pitt's case Johnson would be a big fish in a septic tank.

His recruitment reminds me a lot of an Olineman we tried to bring in with "Block O". Jenkins or something like that. Not exact situaion, but just doesn't want to come to OSU even thought many things line up and say otherwise.

Showme.. 100% agree seems like a very good young man and would be thrilled to have him in this recruiting class. But Penn State is not close to home for him, I am pretty sure OSU is closer to home then PSU would have been.

Again, just seems regardless of what OSU can offer the young man just is not sold this is where he needs to be the next 4-5 years.

Hope I am wrong because the upside to him is very high I believe.

Dorian Johnson (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon) had a top three after giving his decommitment to Penn State a month ago.

Now, the 27th-ranked player in the ESPN 150 has a temporary order for those top three.

?Pitt is No. 1, Ohio State is No. 2 and Virginia Tech is No. 3,? said Johnson before his American Family Insurance Selection Tour presentation for the Under Armour All-America Game on Friday.

He then added: ?For right now.?

Johnson has been a hot commodity and one Ohio State covets, but the Buckeyes will have to wait in line a bit before getting a chance to wow the 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive tackle.

He?ll be traveling to Heinz Field on Saturday for the Pitt-Virginia Tech game on an unofficial visit and then has plans to travel with his mother and aunt for the Ohio State-Nebraska game on Oct. 6 for another unofficial visit.

Johnson is the second-ranked offensive tackle in the country.

I don't understand decommitting from one school because you will never play in a bowl and put at the top of the list another school that will never play in a bowl.

You are presuming that he decommitted because of the bowl ban.

Maybe he just re-thought after the Freeh report and wanted to commit to a school that didn't try to cover up the rape of little boys. In that case, he's got lots of options.

That, or maybe I was just making a joke at Pitt's expense.
