Rivals$--Smith 'falls in love' at Ohio State

Erick was blown away in his first visit to tOSU. He says the coaches told him he will likely receive an offer but to be patient.

ESPN - Another Glenville star receives OSU offer

1/17

Ohio State has tapped into the Cleveland Glenville pipeline twice in the last month, could there be a third?

The Buckeyes offered yet another Tarblooder and this one came in an up-and-coming safety with five offers from Division-I programs.

That it came from Ohio State makes Erick Smith very happy.

?It feels good, knowing I have a chance to play so close to home,? the junior said. ?I have a lot of interest in Ohio State. It feels good knowing I have a chance to play for them.?

Scout $ - Smith Talks Buckeye Offer

1/18

Video by The Bank.....Being recruited by Coach Drayton & is building a good relationship with him. Says he likes Coach Meyer a lot & really likes his sense of humor. Also has offers from West Virginia, NC State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Indiana & Illinois. Also talks about his relationship with Coach Ginn.

Seems very humble & easily likeable

Just curious RB07, considering who the Bucks are in on at safety, if Smith wanted to committ tomorrow do you think the staff would accept?

Let me preface this by saying Smith is a great player but I think there is no room for him if we get Blanding + any of Peppers, Jones, McDowell, or Kelly. Not sure on Bonney, Hester, or Nicholson. However, that goes in the face of this: I do not see UFM giving an "offer" to a Glenville prospect and ruining a good thing. I could see his OFFER being a first come, first serve and if he takes the typical Glenville approach. All I (think) know is that we don't take more than two pure safety types in this class. Peppers could easily be a CB and so could Kelly, but all of Blanding, Jones, McDowell, Nicholson and Smith are safeties. I guess to sum it up, I don't think the staff would accept...I would think they ask him to hold off for awhile and see what transpires in the mean time.
