The stadium up north is officially out for bid on the renovation project.
Regents approve $226M renovation of Michigan Stadium
June 21, 2007
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- The Big House is getting bigger.
University of Michigan Board of Regents on Thursday approved a $226 million renovation of Michigan Stadium.

The decision allows the university to open the project for bids.
When work is completed in 2010, the stadium will include 83 suites and 3,200 club seats, raising its total seating capacity from 107,501 to more than 108,000.

I think I have a plan for the winning bid ...

$1.99 each - winning bid $6.

I'll just pocket the rest and use part of it to defend against suits from the wheelchair-bound.

How is it that Michigan can pour well over 200million dollars into their stadium to "increase capacity" and only add 500 seats?

I mean, im guessing this is just rennovating the suites and club seats but whatever. You'd think they'd build upward maybe, or just destroy and rebuild it to make it a better stadium.

The toilet bowl's design is absolutely horrendous. Sound gets out and half the stadium sits a half a mile away from the field.

The purpose is not to increase capacity. If a press release includes that phrase, it's to distinguish from earlier proposals that would've decreased capacity.

The main purpose is to add luxury boxes and improve the facilities in general. The luxury boxes will greatly increase revenue and help hold sound in, so I think it's a great idea.
