2008 Buckeye Football Season

Not sure where to put this, but I thought here might be the best place. Took a little free time at work to average out collegefootballnews.com's rankings by unit. Excluded the defense and offense overall rankings cause I thought they were covered by overall positions.

Heres what I ended up with. (These are the only school's I ranked.)

1. OSU - Average ranking of 6.375
2. USC - 10.875
3. Georgia - 11
4. Florida - 13.875
5. Missouri - 18.625
6. Oklahoma - 18.75
7. Clemson - 21.875
8. Wisconsin - 25.875
9. LSU - 27
10. WVU - 29.125

Haters will be haters. Doesn't matter if we go undefeated, get to the NC, and stomp an SEC team 41-3. The people who hate us will still point to the last two BCS games and make up an excuse for why we're overrated.

That's why no matter how this season unfolds, we should all be aware of the fact that we have watched one of the best college football teams to ever take the field. Despite all of the talk, we really are/were that good. The rankings have definitely been justified.

It appears from the other threads, that the two losses were two losses than most of the Buckeye Faithful had anticipated. Also two more than the several seniors that came back to play the 2008 season anticipated either. The thumping that SC gave us, then the one play loss that Penn State hung on us seems to have taken the gleam out of the season.

Now, by any measure, there are at least a half dozen teams that with two losses would be placed ahead of the Buckeyes for the BCS, so that's out. If Penn State either loses, or gets shafted (again), then they'll in all probability will get the nod to the Rose, as no one wants to see SC and OSU tee it up again. (I would, but I'm somewhat wierd, and want to guage how far they've come since then). (And I'd like to see Beanie against Maualuga).

Any thoughts on how the season is going to turn out?

That not correct. I think we will win out and go to a BCS game possibly the Rose vs PAc 10 champ, unless USC is in the NC, or Orange Bowl vs Acc Champ.

Lol, I'll take the latter. The ACC is terrible. Could be a pickup for our program to win big in a BCS game.

No respect

Really no one is giving us any respect after losing to Penn State. We destroyed a very good top 25 Northwestern team and don't even move up a spot in the BCS. Boise State beat Utah State and moved up a spot. This is just ridiculous and I don't understand it. I hope we are able to be put against an SEC team in a bowl game and just put them to shame as to gain some of the respect back. .

I think we lost most of the respect that you speak (at least for this year) of when we got drubbed by USC to start out the season. I too hope that we draw a good team in a bowl, maybe we can get some of it back with a convincing win. I think that OSU dug their own hole here man.
