just watched some highlights of the kid. Seems small to me. Should help out in the return game though. He's a Vincent Smith type mold...........4* recruit from Michigan though. I think that's key whereas you guys lock up the talent in Ohio, UM needs to lock up the talent in Michigan.

good luck and congrats on the rest of the day for you guys, I'm sure it'll be fun for you watching the LOI's roll in

Michigan just stole a true slot dot from Cincy by the name of Dennis Norfleet. My first reaction is, who? My second is will they still talk about evil Urban Meyer is for "stealing" other schools recruits?

Bunch a insecure hypocrites over there.

Two months ago, Hoke was trying to sell Bri'onte Dunn on an I-formation, power running attack, and now he makes a last minute desperation offer to a 5' 7", 165 pound scat back? Head scratcher. Looks like McGuffie 2.0 to me.

"Sell" is the key word. They'll still be a read option, shotgun team until Denard graduates. They need anyone they can get to backup Fitz.

I don't see how there is any desperation with this offer. He was one of the best prospects available we just did not have room for him earlier on... they had space so they grabbed him. Naturallly im biased... but I really like the pickup. I have been high on this kid for quite some time, but I did not think Hoke and staff would give him much of a look. Norfleet has had it rough growing up... real rough. I think he has a chance too be a real playmaker in college. Yes, he lacks size but this kid is extremely tough. I think he will make an impact down the road.

Gotta love how Michigan never has room for kids like Tommy Schutt and Se'Von Pittman, but they can always squeeze in a Willie Henry and a Dennis Norfleet on the eve of Signing Day.

My original point still stands - you can't build a power running attack around a smurf.

I don't think I ever said Michigan didn't have room for Tommy Schutt and Pittman. The staff wanted Pittman things just didn't work out. As far as Schutt... It had nothing too do with not liking Schutt or not having enough room for him. Mattison just wanted only one pure NG in this class and that was Pipkins. Mattison prefers his 3tech guys too be rangy athletic guys that can play both the 5tech and or the 3tech. I understand why you made the comment you did... but not all Michigan fans believe everything on those stupid recruiting sites.

Nobody can make their mind up about the stats on this kid.

The Detroit News:
Norfleet (5-foot-6, 180 pounds),

HighSchoolSports.net:
The 5-feet-7, 170-pounder

Detroit Free Press:
The 5-foot-8, 177-pounder

Ultimately irrelevant. It's not the size of the smurf in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the smurf. (Until he's tackled by some 300+pounder, anyway.)
