Did anyone else notice after Louisville scored their first basket the stadium erupt in boos? Going to gator basketball games for the last 4 years has really turned me off to kan-yuk-ee. They travel unbelievably well and can turn any game into a home game. Really kill the atmosphere.

Luke Hancock scored the first basket for Louisville. The "boos" you heard was Louisville fans yelling "Luuuuuuuuuuuke".

I think the charge call was one of those toss ups. Interesting thing is before the contact the ball was already stripped. My guess is it was a makeup after that awful call a minute earlier where the ball was off of of Tennessee or worst case was touched by both guys at the same time (jump ball goes to mich), and they let Tennessee have it after a quick review. The ensuing play lead to a 1 possession game. Very poor officiating all around at the end of the game.

As Kentucky continues making their run, I just want to remind everyone that post season tournaments don't deminish the importance of the regular season and unequivocally prove who the best team is.

Typically refs will swallow the whistle in that context, and it was especially appropriate in that instance as there wasn't enough contact to warrant a call (to say nothing of the fact that Morgan wasn't even positioned correctly).

Lucas Oil has pretty good stadium security though. This is my worst nightmare with these 2 teams.

I do not think that was a bad call. It was clearly a charge. Morgan might have flopped a little bit but Stokes clearly lowered his shoulder and officials have been making that call all season. Plus, as was mentioned above, if no call had been made the ball already had been stripped from Stokes and I believe it was Livert had already gained possession in bounds. You need to take the hatred away when watching a basketball game when you are trying to make a correct call. Also, an official is not going to swallow his whistle that close to the basket no matter how much time is left on the clock.

. That wasn't predictable or anything. Had Morgan been in a Notre Dame jersey, you'd not only be arguing that was a flop, but you'd be calling for Morgan to be banned from basketball for life for flopping.

And there's something wrong with that? Frankly, as littlebuckeye points out it would have been better for Michigan if the foul hadn't been called. They had the ball in bounds with something like 6 seconds to kill. They could have easily run out the clock or it would have taken Tennessee another 2 or 3 seconds minimum to make the foul. Giving Michigan a one and one took no time off the clock.

Too bad you weren't around Shannon Scott on the night of January 7 to ask him if he thinks officials swallow their whistles at the end of a game rather than make game-deciding foul calls. And, to further show how wrong your generalization is, Scott was much, much closer (try inches) from the rim as compared to Stokes last night.
