2014 NFL Divisional Playoff Week

Do you even remember how the Patriots won their SuperBowls?? Brady had ONE, clutch drive to give Vinateri the field goal.
Beyond that, they were a team that opened with the running game and worked off that. Corey Dillon having a career 04'
year and that defense is the big reason the Pats got by the Colts.
Don't forget the infamous "Tuck" rule and the plowing of the field for the FG that led to the win over Oakland to get to that first SB

Edit: Brady and the Patriots are the benefactors of so many favorable calls over the years it isn't even funny.

Not including the tapes of course.
Point is, Brady has been a consistent playoff performer for over a decade.

I won't anoint him with Super Bowls, that's crazy

Then you're not the person I was responding to.
You guys can see all the potential you want in Luck... but he's not there. I stand by my statement that Indy will need a defense if they want to do more than just make it 1 or 2 games into the postseason. Luck is no Peyton Manning that can do it on his own.

No, I just live in Indy and watch the Colts.

He has prototypical size, smarts, arm, and mobility. He is the next great NFL QB. More passing yards in his first 2 years than any other QB. I won't anoint him with Super Bowls, that's crazy. It takes a lot to be a Super Bowl champion. But Luck plays winning football and is a really good quarterback.

Yesterday was a rough one for him. It's year 2 of a 15 year career.
This, I don't give two shits what Mel, the hair, Kuiper says to be honest. Luck has the tools to be great, we shall see what they do to build a team around him.

Most teams need a decent defense to win. Hell, this is arguably why Peyton only has 1 ring. Most of the Colts wins have come because of the plays Luck has made this year.

Peyton couldn't even do it on his own. So I have no idea what you're talking about.

For all the talk of you wanting to improve Indy's defense (won't disagree) their offense is criminally far behind. The only reason why it doesn't appear that way is because Luck, even as a Rookie - is an above average QB. He's just in year 2. A good couple drafts and maybe some free agent investment, you could see something very special in Indy very soon.

A dominant defense.
I apologize for not repeating it word-for-word for the 4th time. :roll1:
So, how do you feel about Cam Newton? Dominant defense, no playoff wins unlike Luck. What about Romo, Rivers, RGIII, Stafford, Cutler, highly thought of by some who would seem to need dominant defenses as well? I could go on, but I would take Luck in a heartbeat over any of them....

Well that's just it. They're all on the same level to me.
Perhaps that's why somebody commented earlier that he's grossly over-rated.

Manning and Brady never won the Heisman. rivers didn't, Kaepernick didn't. Newton did and lost. Troy Smith will never QB in the playoffs. Crouch was a safety in the NFL. Jason White (), Vince Young is done in the NFL.

I could see it going back to Jim Plunkett. I don't think flutie ever won a playoff game and I'm certain guys like Gino Toretta and Vinny didn't either.

Vinny started for the Browns in their most recent playoff win... January 1, 1995.
