It's part of the Finebaum effect imo.
People that call into that show have become regional celebrities... in the case of Tammy and Phyllis, national. Being a moron on a soapbox has become a legit path to notoriety.
If Ohio State wins 3 NCs under Urban, you can bet you'll see a lot more of this crap... just like the Lebron/Heat bandwagon etc.

Indeed, BamaReed, this is as bad as it gets.

So Saban wins 3 NC's in 4 years and he now has two strikes. Oh the humanity!

Although I will freely admit as long as the Buckeyes beat that team up north, it's basically a good year.

The best part is how quickly they forget what a pit their program was in just seven years ago. They had a decade plus of mediocre to downright bad teams. Hopefully they go back there once Saban decides he's had enough.

they lost to a directional Louisiana school as recently as '05/'06 iirc

Today was my first (and probably last) time to listen to Finebaum. Picked it up about halfway between Meridian and Tuscaloosa and listened until well north of Birmingham. I must say I felt Phyllis is overrated (her rant was short and kind of pitiful). Tammy seemed to bring her A game of insanity and not letting the facts get in the way of the tale she wanted to spin. Andy from Ohio was great. Interestingly (but not surprisingly) those callers supporting tOSU seemed much more articulate and well reasoned with their arguments. Those supporting anything S-E-C were barely intelligible at times.
