oh christ, give the fucking conference superiority shit a rest.

yes, the big east sucks. Ohio is totally better than Georgetown. Syracuse without Onuaku should be expected to win 4 games a night. blah blah blah.

are you guys that uptight about who ESPN says is the best conference?

:shake:

Maybe you should wait a while to post... :wink2:

This has been an epic fail for the conference, regardless of whether you are a Big East fan or not.

To lose a 1, 2 and 3 seed in the first three rounds is certainly a disappointment. At least WVU is saving some face for the conference. Either way, I couldn't care less. I've always hated the Big East because of a rivalry with a good friend of mine, not because of ESPN's bias.

At the end of this game the rolls really went Butlers way, after it seemed like they couldn't catch a break. Rautins was unconscious, Butler couldn't defend the lane without getting some sort of foul called...then all of the sudden, a 3 bounce 3 pointer, lucky tip in and game over.

And the Orange should have won with or without Arinze. They just fell apart late.

calm down, chief. there is a huge difference between being the so-called best conference and being the best conference without a shred of doubt--that is, one of the best conferences ever.

it still remains that the big east was bent over by a bunch of teams seeded much, much lower.

and? why do fans take such pleasure in shit like that? are you upset that people talk about teams from the Big East instead of teams from the Big Ten?

fuck. it gets old enough in football.

People like it when folks get knocked down a notch or two...

...as dumb as it is (I agree) you can't help but recognize that the Big East was hyped up to be this superleague. The fact that they will only get 1 team past the 3rd round, and probably none in the final 4 is enough to be noteworthy.

the question was earnest. i have never seen a worse performance by a conference in relation to seed expectations and the number of seemingly good-to-great teams participating. and guess what, 27? how overrated a conference is actually matters in college basketball. unlike football, many teams are selected to participate in the post-season, and all teams' seeds are determined by opinion. the pervasive talk about how unquestionably great the big east is during the season can and often does hurt other conferences when the talk is way, way off.

F'ing Cuse... Real dollars hurt losing a bit more than the vdollars... just a lil. I rushed the bet as I was in between an event and getting some food in Vegas.Oh well... there's plenty of time to make it back!

Fucking Butler. Put my Calcutta consortium of investors into the black with that win... winning real money feels better than vCash

(yep, the douche winky)

Boeheim probably should spend less time playing mind games with teams outside of his region, and spend more time on his opponent. I think I heard 3 interviews from Charlotte with Boeheim talking about how good Cornell is, how he thought his team would lose to Cornell, how Cornell should play with confidence, and how his 2-3 zone is amazing and so much different that any other zone.....even though his ppg on defense over his career is semi-average.

Maybe he just rubs me the wrong way, but I was definately for Butler. I also thought Cuse' was significantly overrated and had them ousted by Gonzaga in all 3 of my brackets. Thankfully, I had Butler beating the Zags to the elite 8.

Outside of a season with Carmelo, the most athletic forward in the country in Hakim Warick, and a great shooter in Gerry MacNamera, Boeheim has never impressed me much.

The only person talking about the Big Ten is you.

The fact is the Big East got 8 bids - more than any other conference - and 6 of them lost to lower seeded teams. The conference failed to live up to the expectations of the people who put together the bracket, not to mention the accolades bestowed upon it when it got those 8 bids.

The only reason you're even remotely upset about it is because Syracuse lost. Otherwise, you wouldn't give a shit.
