7 Bold Predictions for 2012

I think 11-1 is a stretch but doesn't mean I don't want to see it.

This will be a club in transition and trips to Wisky, PSU, and MSU don't make the schedule easy

Well it did say bold.

Although PSU is also in transition and we do have two weeks to prepare for Wisky.

Not saying that OSU doesn't have some holes to fill, but each of Wisky, PSU and MSU lose a lot from this past season. 2012 will be a down year for the Big Ten.

Wasn't last year a down year for the big 10 too?

I love the Bold Predictions thread!
I'm going to have to think of some good ones for 2012.

For you, I hope (and this is not a slight at all) that Richt can get his team to play up their talent. If the SEC is going to keep dominating college football, I'd rather it not be the same old faces (LSU and Bama)...plus I really respect Richt (can't say that about many SEC coaches).

As for us...11-1 can seem to be a stretch BUT with the talent we will have on the DL, I wouldn't bet heavily against it with our schedule. Great teams are built around great defensive lines and next years team should be no exception. So long as Williams comes back healthy, Shazier is let free to get to the QB, and 1-2 out of Miller, Bennett, Hayes, Spence, Washington, or Pittman can step up and get a consistent pass rush, the question marks will fade for the back seven imo (plus we'll be much more experienced and I'm convinced the talent is there if we get our fundamentals set straight).

Plus we all know the offense is going to improve (it can't get much worse). We have some major holes to fill on the OL of course, but at least Braxton's legs help out in the passing game and I think the pieces are there to have a good run blocking OL.

I don't like the prediction about Ohio State winning a close one against Michigan. I want the Buckeyes to beat the ever-living shit out of those scUM. I want 42-7. I want to see Denard pancaked into the turf after the first play, crying on the sideline as the game slips away, and shoveling his boyfriend's mansauce into his piehole for consolation.

I want Urban to stomp down on the gas (and on their windpipe) and not let up. Stay aggressive until Fatty Hoke gets an aneurysm. Who's with me???

I concur, I want miller to finish up Denards cereal after his first plunge into the endzone.

The spooning thing. The "Ohio" talk. They know what's coming and it ain't them.

I want it to be 42-0 Buckeyes going into half time, TSUN receiving the ball to star the 2nd half and Urban calling an on-side kick... And the garbage touchdown we score at the end of the game... I want Urban to go for 2 because he couldn't go for 3!

Wisky is without Russell Wilson and Paul Chryst. If their QB isn't much of a passing threat, Wisconsin becomes 1 dimensional and stopping James White and Monte Ball doesn't sound too hard.

Kirk Cousins made MSU... Levon Bell and their defense will be good but they are not going to repeat 2011.

PSU is going to be in the cellar of the B1G with Indiana and Purdue.

Illinois (with Beckman) and Nebraska will be tougher than road games with MSU, Wisky, and PSU.

I think 2012 will be even downer than 2011 was.

My 7 bold predictions:
1. Ohio State will "win" the Leaders division. (Yes, I know that was from the article. But I agree with it.)
2. Ohio State will beat Michigan badly. I don't know if it will be as bad as 42-7, but it will be bad.
3. Urban Meyer, despite turning a 6-7 team into an 11-1 team, will NOT be named Big Ten Coach of the Year.
4. What's-his-name at Penn State (head coach) WILL be named Big Ten Coach of the Year, for all the adversity he has pulled his team through, en route to an 8-4 season (and not winning the Leaders division).
5. Ohio State will lose either at Wisconsin or at Michigan State. I'm hoping it's at Michigan State, because I love to hear Bret Bielema crying about something. But not both games - I think they'll go 11-1.
6. ESPN will refuse to acknowledge Ohio State's victories, especially over Penn State and Michigan, giving little more than just a final score for each game.
7. I won't know whether #6 is correct, because I won't be watching #6.

Ok- #7 isn't very bold... sorry.

My only bold prediction is that the Ohio State Buckeyes will be the AP national champions in 2012.

Seriously. The schedule is as good as you could ask for and the attitude of this team is going to be epic. There's plenty of talent and I expect UFM to utilize all of it.
