A coach that pisses you off

I'd be interested to hear why it is that you hate Bill Cowher, unless it's just that you're a Browns fan. Cowher's a great blue-collar coach, in my opinion, with a quality sideline presence. Anyone remember him stuffing the overhead photo of the field into the refs shirt pocket after the ref incorrectly called 13 men on the field? Classic!

Aren't you guys being a little rough on Steve Superior? He's the Bobby Knight of College Football. You may not have like the way he bitches about things, but he was right more often than wrong. He was what Gainesville needed after Galen Hall ran the program in the ground.

I personally can't stand Amato at NC State.
He's the second one I thought of after Bowden, but couldn't remember his name as I read this thread.

Bowden and Amato each seem like huge punks. When OSU beat NC St last year, Amato was trying to justify his 5,000 penalty yards by saying "all great teams give up a lot ot penalties." And, of course, when Bowden let Peter Warrick keep playing after he stole hundreds of dollars from some store, and kicked some other guy off the team for the same thing, that tells me that Bowden is not about discipline at all.

As for Paterno, I like the guy. His whining in recent years has been funny, but he's always had good discipline with his players. I hope Bowden loses the rest of his games, and Paterno wins enough to get his record back.

#1, I would say Spurrier. Not because of his whining to the ref's - because I enjoy that - it means that a call just went against his team, which I always enjoy. I dislike him the most because he always tried to run the score up, no matter who they were playing or what the circumstances. Ahead by 28, 2 minutes left, ball on their 25? Yeah, let's run that reverse.......

Beyond that, Bob Knight (just once, could you just admit that you are wrong? About anything?) I'd have a lot more respect for him if he could, but he's simply incapable.

Others:
Billy Donovan at Florida
Bob Huggins
Dusty Baker
Tony Larussa
Brian Billick
Jim Fassel
Tom Coughlin

Amato tops the board for me with his I'm kool persona. Don't you know that your 80 or something? Get some shades that look the part you old wrinkly punk!

Then off course is LLLoyd, his crying and whining makes me sick!

I have to disagree with everyone about Paterno, he knows what to do and when to do it (he's been coaching since ...... hell forever!!!) I have respect for the coaches who can withstand as many seasons as he has with the media and the rollercoaster rides that come season in and out. What a great coach to have in the greatest Conference in College Football.

I agree with you about Spurrier. While its fun to run up the score in video games, you just don't do it in real life. He's on my list.

As for basketball, there was one guy (I don't remember his name) who coached for Iowa State. Maybe he still coaches there. All I know about him was what happened in the 2000 or 2001 NCAA tournament: his team was losing with less than a minute, a call went against his way, and he whined and bitched and got one or two technical fouls, then kicked out of the game. And the call he was whining about wasn't even questionable - the refs got it right. The baby couldn't stand to watch his team lose. I don't follow basketball enough to know any others.
