Apple Software & Mac Hardware news

Both iphone and ipad upgraded. Not sure I like the new icons, will take some getting used too. Hopefully this iOS doesn't suck even more of my battery life for my iphone. Its just an iphone 4 and the battery was already bad.

We'll I've got it on my mini. Definitely going to take some time to get used to. The transitions between home screen to apps feels strange, and kind of slow. The icons, I hide pretty much all the stock apps into a folder, that I never open, so I don't really care about that.

The notification center feels/looks like android.

The swipe up thing (can't remember the name) is long overdue and is great for quick changes

I love the quick app switcher and the preview of the apps

Is there any way of changing the theme to black backgrounds? Like when you open safari, black keyboard with white letters and a black heading with white forward/back/etc icons. This very white almost hurts my eyes

Something that is really bothering me.

In the notification center pull down, even though I have 4 events on my calendar for today, they are not shown. What's the point of having events for the day, and having a space for them to show up, not show up?

Agreed. I liked to use NC to do a quick check of my calendar for the next day. With the way they choose to do the calendar view in iOS 7 it's useless though because it only shows what's on my calendar in the middle of the night. Kinda pointless.

I upgraded last week when Apple started seeding the "GM" version of iOS7 (GM = gold something) - was pleasantly surprised when I connected to the new iTunes yesterday my software was up to date. I got rid of my jailbreak for this update, and after the initial 'shell shock' of change, I really like the update.. a lot.

Something I just noticed. Was looking at the home screen on my mini, and was tilting it left, right, back, forward....my background image moves a little bit depending on the severity of the tilting. Interesting. It kind of makes it look 3d.

Did this happen in the last iOS? Or did someone slip something to me this morning?

I don't like how the weather does not show up in the Notification Center now, at least I haven't been able to get it to. Other than that, like you guys have said, it will take a little getting used to. Love having the control center now, though.

that's new....supposedly also stolen from android. it does it on the lock screen too.

I don't follow Android features, but I know the effect has been around for a long time as a jailbreak tweak. The effect is called "parallax" and it can be turned off in the settings somewhere. I like it, but it might be a battery saver to shut it off.
