Game Thread BCS National Championship Game: tOSU 24, LSU 38 (final)

I've watched the ESPN segment that shows both Tressel and Miles talking about the game.

Tressel looks at the screen the entire time.
Les Miles looks away (to the left) when he says that Ohio State is a very good football team.

It may or may not be unintentional, but I swear it makes me believe that Miles doesn't think Ohio State is any good. I hope that helps him in his preparation.

Well, watching a couple ESPN clips, Kirk is being blunt/up front about how the media will preach the 'SEC speed' like Sunday gospel. - which of course he is entirely right.

But I really have a warm spot in my heart for Corso now; calling our offensive line the best in the nation. Calling Beanie a "man" - shit like that, ...its not easy to dislike him right now :)

I took notice to that too, but didn't think to much into it. It looked kinda like a party in the background and like he wasn't to interested with the interview. He has looked way more animated in the past few days as far as interviews and comments to the public. I truely hope that Miles doesn't think we are as good as we are and we come out firing like the motivated team we should be.

I am sure with being a "Michigan" man, he has a healthy respect for Ohio State since they have beaten his alma mater quite a few times in a row. He even jokes about it in this interview after sec champ game yesterday. It video on right of article, when he is talking about why he stayed and all. Apparently Bo told him to take lsu job.

ESPN - With Miles out, Michigan continues coaching search - College Football

It was funny - in that interview, he came off like a likable, humble guy with a good sense of humor about himself. Seems to help confirm that all that bravado is just a show.

Congrats on making it to the NC game. I hope all of you that are coming down for the game enjoy yourselves. If you come down to have a good time, I don't think you will be disapointed, win or lose. You WILL get tired of hearing "Tigerbait" but don't believe all the tales about LSU fans. They do like to party and there will always be a few that party too much, but I have seen the same thing at every other venue that I have been to, and I have been to a lot of them over the years. You would be amazed at how many fans from other schools have told me how much they enjoyed themselves visiting LSU, even after hearing all kinds of horror stories about what to expect. It should be a good game and I am glad we have 5 weeks before it is played. If we had to play next week we would have to suit up some of the cheerleaders. We have been a seriously beat up team for the last couple of weeks, but we should be at full strength by game time. Anyone coming down should schedule a little time to visit the WW2 exhibit downtown. Well worth your time. Can't wish you luck, but be safe and have a good time.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

Now tell us a little about your team. Is this a run first or pass first team? What kind of depth are we looking at on the defensive line? Lastly, how the heck is Joseph Barksdale doing down there?

HELLO BUCKEYES

Congrats on being in the big game. Yall are a great program Cant wait to see you on the field down here in NAWLINS. Saw a question about what our team is like. Well for starters you cant look at the last 5 weeks. I know theres alot of controversy, but weve been really banged up. Glen Dorsey, our DT mammoth has been hurt for 6 weeks and been playing at well under 100 percent. Also Flynn, our qb, Chevis Jackson, our future 1st round CB, Beckwith, our speed OLB, favorite, our other tackle, Alexander, our TE, Early Doucet, our #1 wideout, and trindon holliday, our lil speedster, have been hurt or banged up. Id like to say we are a run first team becasue of our 3 great RBs(hester, williams, and scott) but we love to throw becasue of the speed of our recievers. On D it all revolves around Dorsey, and that is why our D has lagged in the last 6 weeks, even though we still won games, we do not look like the same team after SC since thats when he got hurt. With Dorsey at full health which he should be by the big game, our D feeds off the constant triple teams he draws and jackson ad beckwith get to headhunt QBs. Our CBs and seccondary like to take chances, so if your going to hurt us go deep. I think yall have a great team and cant wait to see this game.. Good Luck, youre going to need it

To add on to that.... if you go deep, one of our safeties who happens to have an uncanny knack of being right in front of the receiver may just happen to get a pick.

Your best bet may be to throw the short quick passes underneath the zone that the corners usually run.

What's the OSU seconday like? Man/Zone/Mix/Cover 2?

HELLO BUCKEYES

He has a pulled hamstring. Ya we have had some banged up or hurt players for awhile now, it hasnt been the same team. But everyone, except alexander should be back to full health by NC. It will be reat to have 2 healthy teams slugging it out. Cant wait to see that crazy LB of your go at it with Hester.

I saw a Cicero posting on tigerdroppings. Is that you? Nice. Those guys have already ordered the case for the Nat'l Championship.

Sounds like a certain few Cryami players that reserved a big nightclub for Jan 4th, 2003 for their "NC Repeat Party"...IIRC, that party was a dud.

This is my first post on this board. But, I for one do not buy the "undisputed fact" that the SEC is faster than any other conference. I have been wondering since the Nat. Championship last year if OSU was just rusty (hadn't played in 5 to 7 weeks) and not in proper football condition. I have the upmost respect for Jim Tressel...a very classy guy. Tonight on ESPN's BCS show was a prime example. Not only classy, but Tressel is very smart. I know that if conditioning was the problem last year, the Buckeyes will be running plenty of wind sprints for the next 5 weeks.

If LSU blows out OSU, we can say "for sure" speed is the problem, but until then I'm not so sure. Afterall, this is college football and any team can beat, upset, or blow out any other if all the conditions are right and stars align (mistakes, turnovers, and injuries) - just look at Pitt/WV, Mich/Appy. State, and USC/Stanford.

I think this will be a close game and LSU has not learned the "Killer Instinct" yet that Nick Saban taught the 2003 team - to put the game away once you are ahead.

I won't wish ya'll good luck, but best wishes to each of you individually.

Any idea on what uni's we will be wearing?

I would love to see them in the home jerseys.

:oh:

F--- that. Tressel is undefeated in BCS games in the road Whites. we don't need to talk about what happened in the one BCS game where we wore the home Scarlet. besides, LSU wears white at home. the Buckeyes get the choice. make 'em wear the purple jerseys.

that Tigerdroppings site is the gift that keeps on giving....

between the OSU look-a-likes thread :shake: to the "wrestlers who are better than Laurinaitis' dad" thread (which is actually funny and a bit pathetic given some of the posters Pro-fake wrestling knowledge), this next month or so is going to be fun
