FWIW

The long TD that RP threw in the SEC CG was into double coverage and should have been picked. The safety broke on it and I started to tell my UT buddy it was a pick, then the FS just absolutely misplayed the ball in the air as poorly as one could play it.

Well I just want to say that if Flynn throws that ball, it is a pick. RP's arm is that strong and that had a lot to do with the FS misplaying the ball.

Just reported by local sports news that Flynn's shoulder injury will not allow him to finish the NC game and he may not play. Looks like the bulk of the work will be done by Perrilloux.
I didn't see the news this evening, but he was interviewed on the 10pm news last night and he said he felt fine. I think yesterday was the first day of practice, so if something happened it would have been today. Flynn needs to play, not only for his experience, but the fact that they will have to play a somewhat conservative game with Perrilloux. Not because of his ability, but the fact that we have no one to back him up that has more than a couple of cleanup duty snaps. He was rather conservative in the SEC CG for the same reason.

Not sure if I like this news (as a Buckeye fan) or not. No doubt, most LSU fans want Flynn in there because of his experience, knowledge of the offense, and the fact that he's a proven leader who led his teams through tough challenges against Auburn, Florida, and Bama.

But, as an outsider, I think RP's the better QB. Whether or not his lone TD toss in the SECCG was smoke and mirrors, he's got an incredible arm and even more mobility than Flynn. he's got a 4 to 1 TD-INT ratio as of now, while Flynn's isn't even 2 to 1.

Dunno.

I didn't have a dog in the hunt at the time and all I saw was a QB throw into double coverage, a safety rotate into position to pick it and then jump in the air and land again before the ball ever got there.

It looked so bad you might be right, something made him misplay that ball in the air about as badly as it can be done.

If RP had another year under his belt in the system but not starting, he'd be the runaway starter without any controversy.

I think the reason he is not starting this year is two:

1. Miles rewards loyalty and prefers to start upperclassmen.
2. Perrilloux has had some maturity issue since being at LSU.

He will be the starter next year as long as he does not get into any off field trouble.

Here's an excerpt from a post on a LSU board. Take it for what it's worth:

Just talked to someone at LSU, they said the report was bullshit and that the LSU trainers said he will be healthy by the time they play.

He was hurt, I talked to Matt at the selection show, he's sore, but 3 weeks is plenty of time to come back from that injury.

I can see the story line now.

If LSU wins, it was because an "injury-free" Ohio State couldn't deal with "SEC speed."

If Ohio State wins, it was because LSU was injured. "You see Dorsey and Flynn weren't 100%. If they were, LSU would have won."

Either way, LSU is the rightful winner because either they won or they would have if they didn't have any injuries.

Almost a shame that the LSU boards cleared that up.

Would have played out well as a smokescreen for the Defensive planners in Columbus.

Come on now, you honestly don't think the Buckeye coaching staff is putting their game plan together based on Internet rumors do you?

If your post was sarcasism, then I missed the boat.

Perish the thought - now a fully qualified rumor twice regurgitated through ESPN via Yahoo Sports, now that has legs.

(And that isn't a slap at sluTiger either - who just conveyed the message).

Yeah sarcasm was the general idea ...

Serious note - I'm glad to hear that Flynn will more than likely be able to go - I was hoping for both teams to be at full strength.

Looks like Ohio State wont be. Word is Donald Washington (and Eugene Clifford) are not going to NO. As you know, but for the benefit of the LSU posters, DW is the starting CB opposite Jenkins.

Hell, I wouldn't believe it unless Herbie was reporting it.

And you're right sluTiger was only reporting what he heard on a Baton Rouge TV station.

Hell it's being reported on a LSU board that your CB Washington won't start because of "violation of team rules". I'm not taking that one to the bank either.

And on a serious note, will Jan 7th ever get here?

You might as well bank it. I suppose there's a chance (smaller than a gnats balls) this is a garbage rumor, but too many people have all said the same thing with respect to it.
