Being A Buckeye For One Single Play

All the plays mentioned here made me jump out of my chair but the one that had me screaming was Will Smith slappin the sh-t out of Kellen Winslow in the NC game. After his comments about not even knowing what conference we play in I would have loved to be Will Smith tattooing BIG TEN across the side of his head.

I've never heard that before. Kellen Winslow Jr. actually said he didn't know what conference we're from? What a stuck up piece of shit. "I'm a fucking soldier!".

Good Lord, so many great options. I'd have to go with Cie Grant sealing the 2002 NC, followed very closely by Will Allen's game ending pick in the 'Shoe vs. scUM in 2002.

In retrospect, a hugely important play for the program was J. Wells taking it to the House on 4th and 1 in Ann Arbor in 2001. IMO, and as a Red Sox fan would say, that was the first "reverse the curse" play of the Tressel era.

I'd like to be Andy Katzenmoyer on Iowa's first series against us in 97. Iowa came in ranked 11 in the country and had the nations leading rusher in Tavian Banks.

On first down, the Hawks handed it to him, and he was smacked by Andy Katzenmoyer for no gain. Second and long? No problem. Hand it to Banks again. This time he wasn't stopped for no gain. This time he was snuffed by Katzenmoyer in the backfield for a two yard loss. Showing absolutely no respect for the nation’s leading rusher, Katzenmoyer sent a message to the Hawks that the Shoe was his cage. He locked the gate and wasn't going to let them out until he was done with them.

Bucks 23
Hawks 7

Archie on the diving pass reception up the sidelines against Penn State in 1975. It kept us in the game against a top opponent (which we went on to win), kept alive our undefeated season and NC hopes, and demonstrated to the press that we hadn't lost our resolve after the Rose Bowl loss the previous January. One of the most phenomenal single efforts I've ever seen for OSU.

He said it... something to the effect of "who do they play... Nebraska or somebody" when asked about us in all the hype before the game. I have never (after 40 years of watching Buckeye football) disliked an individual on a team we've played more than him. After Smith smacked his helmet five or six times he went crying to the official. To me it was the trademark of the whole game.

Bump.

How about the defense of Ohio State when they knocked off NC State and Philip Rivers in 3OT in '03? I can't remember such an intense game, aside from the 2003 Championship and Holy Buckeye.
I was at that game!

I'd have to say Michael Jenkins on "HOLY BUCKEYE!"

I'd want to be Brian Robiskie making his circus catch against Minnesota. That was amazing, and any comparison to Randy Moss by sports writers would be awesome.

Cie Grant tossing Ken Dorsey on the last play of the '03 Fiesta would be awesome.

All of my first choices have been posted:
Michael Jenkins, "Holy Buckeye"
Will Allen INT vs TSUN 2002
Cie Grant off the edge
Eddie vs Illinois, "Hello Heisman"

I'd have to go with the long TDs against Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. More specifically, the two TDs by Ginn--even more specifically, the pass he caught for the first OSU score of the game.

After hearing so much for a month straight about the "offensive genius" Charlie Weis, and getting so much crap from Token Notre Dame Fan (the guy who was born and raised in Ohio but for some reason hates OSU and loves ND, I'm sure you all know one of these people), I was very anxious for this game. ND took the ball down the field and scored instantly, and for a second there was that "oh crap" feeling. Then the Bucks answered instantly... I remember watching Troy throw a deep pass downfield, the camera hadn't yet panned out far enough to even include Teddy in the shot, and I remember just thinking to myself, "Be there.... be there..."

Camera shifts to Ginn, 15 yards past the defenders, catching it in stride. Goosebumps every time.
