Bill Belichick (Former New England Patriots Head Coach)

Bill Belichick apparently will go 0-for-7 when it comes to finding a head-coaching job in 2024. If, as it appears, nothing materializes in Seattle or Washington or elsewhere, what will happen in 2025? The question of control will continue to hover over Belichick's prospects

Just sayin': You would think that a head coach that has the most Superbowl wins (3 times as many as any other active coach, Andy Reid has 2) would be able to find a job. However, that doesn't appear to be the case for Bill Belichick in 2024.

COACH SUPER BOWL WINS TEAM
Bill Belichick 6 Patriots
Chuck Noll 4 Steelers
Bill Walsh 3 49ers
Joe Gibbs 3 Redskins
Andy Reid 2 Chiefs
Vince Lombardi 2 Packers
Tom Flores 2 Raiders
Jimmy Johnson 2 Cowboys
George Seifert 2 49ers
Mike Shanahan 2 Broncos
Tom Coughlin 2 Giants
Bill Parcells 2 Giants
Tom Landry 2 Cowboys
Don Shula 2 Dolphins
FWIW, a Sports Illustrated writer's comment:

I never thought Bill Belichick would have much of a market to be a head coach again this year, even with seven openings besides the New England Patriots. Yes, I know about his Super Bowls and his record. But, for teams, signing head coaches is similar to signing players: They are hiring them for future performance, not past performance. As this hiring cycle shows, teams want younger coaches with the hope that the teams can have continuity and sustained success for many years (similar to what New England had). Indeed, the reason that no one is hiring Belichick and Pete Carroll is the reason their teams decided to separate from those coaches: wanting new, fresh faces leading their teams from the sideline. Is this ageism? Well, if pressed, the teams would say they wanted to go “in a different direction.” And there’s no Rooney Rule for that.

I think there's a chance teams have realized that BB without Tom Brady is a fool's errand...

With TB: 232-72 (.763), 30-11 Postseason, 9 Conf Champs, 6 SB Champs
Without TB: 70-93 (.429), 1-2 Postseason, 0 Conf Champs, 0 SB Champs

10 Seasons without TB he missed the playoffs 8/10 years and had just 2 winning seasons, 11-5 with the Clowns in '94 and 10-7 with the Pats in 2021.

Bill Belichik without Tom Brady is a 7-9 coach. and he's now 71 years old. Anybody that hired him thinking he was the answer would be a fool.
