Hell let's suit your ass up...

D1 football is easy

what an ignorant comment. Yeah, none of us can criticize JT b/c we have no idea what it's like to be a Divison 1 coach. Lay off George Bush too, unless you know what it's like to be president. Ditto for John Kerry, unless you're one of the other 99 senators. :roll1:

I don't have any idea about what it's like to be an asshole...can I still criticize you Tibs? :boohoo:

Its a domino effect in my opinion

1) JT has lost faith in the OL and backs as shown on the 3rd and short in the last 2 games

5) Lydell showed improvement, but he must be more consistent. After watching AP today, I realized the difference in an adequate back and a great back

6) Youth, youth, youth. Young players make young mistakes...I saw at least 2 miscues on coverage switches. I couldnt get a good look at the DL but if I had to guess, it was happening there too

Was Barton in because of the poor line play or was there an injury?

When I first read this I thought you were referring to Antonio Pittman. I would have liked to have seen more of him, but we had to throw.

I just have to remind myself that this is a young team. There is a fine line to walk between getting these guys experience that will pay off next year and breaking their will. I am sure JT will make sure this experience only makes them stronger.

The announcers commented that the O-line was pass blocking on running plays and run blocking on passing plays at times. Did anyone see this?

I don't know if zwick will be a great qb let alone good, his technique is horrible watch his left side fly open when he goes to throw and the reason he throws alot of passes over our wrs head is he holds the ball in his palm not his fingers. Thats why the ball flutters and the nose of the ball is pointing up and floats. He also keys on one reciever doesn't go thru his progressions.

2) Zwick has happy feet...some due to pressure, some due to implied pressure. When he missed open receivers all game long, his feet nor shoulders were set.
3) The 3 and outs by the O are wearing down the D...we aren't as deep as we all think. When these guys tire, it shows
4) Again, the Oline did not execute well...better but not well.
5) Lydell showed improvement, but he must be more consistent. After watching AP today, I realized the difference in an adequate back and a great back

Man osugrad21,
Just got home from the game ...
You hit the nail on the head osugrad21. Add to the fact that Justin Zwick was not checking off very well and locking onto one player(Holmes or Ginn) at times. Also the Wr's were not completing their routes very well. We had no sustaining drives on offense at all, that sucked . IT all comes down to a few bad things here and then there but mainly its YOUTH and maturity.
DL did better at getting pressure. WOW though #21 Sally got toasted bad.

This team will get better as the season goes along, and they'll get better during the off-season. .
:oh: :io:
I don't think we've improved at all this year. Actually, I think we're getting worse.

I am usually a big optimist when it comes to Tressel and Buckeye football. However, I see little to be optomistic about.

I had expectations of a 9-2 or 8-3 season this year, which was understandable and realistic. I definately see a 6-5 season as a HUGE letdown. OSU should never have a season like that with the players we have.

Reality check

-Since the '03 scUM loss we are 4-3 and have outscored our opponents by 8 points.

-we are -5 in TO ratio so far in '04

-The only team we looked good against offensivly (UC) just got 48 put on them by Army.

-So far this team is worse offensively than the 99 squad.

-Speaking of '99, JZ's stat line continues to bear an alarming resemblance to Steve B's career stat line. Also much like SB, he isn't improving much, if anything the only pattern is regression.

-2004 OSU/Opponent:

net rush per game....111.8/146.6
total offense...........306.8/314.4
3rd down conv........30%/36%
Sacks by................8/13
Points per game.......22.6/19.6
