Brady "XLLL" Hoke (Head Coach San Diego State)

The perfect year for scUM....

1) Two out of conference losses this year ND and Akron...but not by too much because they cant be out of it completely.
2) Squeak out enough conference games to win Leaders
3) Beaten by OSU at home by 3 touchdowns, Gardner throws 4-5 picks, begs Detard to return
4) Morris starts for Gardner in B1G championship...6 turnovers...loses to Bucks by 4 touchdowns.
5) Beaten by Rich Rod in the Dog [Mark May] bowl, finishing 8-6

Undefeated at home, though. Somethings got to give this season........

Hoke's 5-7 on the road, is (and has been) starting a convicted felon at linebacker, and is running a program akin to MSU when it comes to bush league antics of players and coaches running their mouths. But, yeah, you guys have that undefeated home record to hang your hats on.

With the signature win being against either:

5 loss ND in '11
7 loss OSU in '11
6 loss MSU in '12

all three of which were narrow victories.

That meme may die this year, but UM fans will get to clutch to the 'no 1k rusher' meme for another year given Hyde's offseason. The lack of 2 postseason games preserved that one last year by 30 yds and probably will do the same this year.

Verses those teams? I would not care if they were all winless. Victories over them are still the best. I don't think any osu fans were complaining about beating up on Rich Rod's [Mark May]ty teams.
Actually that is not a true statement. There were several on this board lamenting the fact tsun wasn't able to field a decent team those years. They felt the victories were lessened by tsun's ineptitude. I wasn't. I'm from the school of I wished they'd lose every game and disband the program (as Jax adds, "And plow and salt the ground where tsun now stands.")

You are correct, I remember reading probably one fourth of this board lamenting on the non-competition and wanted UM to field stronger teams. Since Hoke has came the games have been closer. In the horseshoe losing by 5. Yes he is a fat and talks weird, but Hoke is probably the best thing to happen to that program in a decade ( maybe Mattison? lol) . but with recruiting and all , it will show on the field for them.

Yes beating your rivals is always a good thing. He is .500 against those teams, and Tressel's signature home wins were not against barely bowl eligible rivals.

I want to see a 10 year war again, whom ever wins the big ten I want them to kick the shit out of a SEC team.

This. Being ineligible last year saved Ohio State the embarrassment of being left out of the NCG despite being undefeated, but it still can happen if the Big Ten doesn't get its shit together.

Not sure about that. We wouldn't have been ranked so low (and by that, I mean outside the top two) had we been eligible.
