Bruce Hooley - Biggest Idiot now back on the radio in Cleveland

Piney;2001747; said:
It's been rumored all week... But the funny thing is he is partnered with Greg Brinda. The show HAS to be called Grumpy Old Men

To top it off, LeCharles Bentley quit last night due to a pay issue. Not his pay... but the 3rd guy(intern?). He was being moved to a different show so they wouldn't have to pay him minimum wage. Bentley put up a stink and quit.

So yeah... KNR is dead... especially since the Fan has Dustin Fox.

In addition to Brinda, there is a 3rd person as well. The third person is Chris Fedor, who is also someone who claims to be an OSU fan, yet rips them every chance he gets. I might still listed to the Really Big Show in the mornings. But that will probably be it for me.

The LeCharles thing was all over Twitter last night, I respect the guy even more for taking a stand.

I guess I shouldn't be shocked that anything with the ESPiN name on it quickly turns to garbage.

I used to defend Hooley as I didn't mind listening to most of what he said.

Once the stuff with Ohio State went down it became pretty obvious that he was a mindless hater. He is a one trick pony and that one trick is to hate all things Jim Tressel.

Not sure what he's going to talk about as Coach Tressel is gone. It's pretty obvious given his rants the last few months that the only topic he really wants to speak about is how crooked Ohio State is and in particular Jim Tressel.

850 is pretty much going all in with the Ohio State hate from the look of things.

He will just continue to hate on all things Ohio State, no matter the coach. I can promise you that. Its his schtick now. That's what KNR hired him to do - given the last 7 months, that much is obvious.

KNR aims to divide the city of Cleveland on Ohio State, which has historically been a Buckeye town. Fuck them. Fuck them up their stupid asses. I will never listen to that station again.

I have to weigh in on this one, but I don't want to be misunderstood. Bruce has had me throwing things and using words my mama wouldn't be proud of.

That said... I listened to KNR this morning and heard the changes they are making. I did not know LCB quit. Man, that guy was good, if for no other reason, he made me lmao. His laughing made me laugh. Great guy.

I see a contrarian side to Bruce. I think he is going to maintain his objectivity (in his eyes) and to him, when the Bucks are not good in some area or they are found outside the rules, he is going to call a spade a spade. He might have taken this tact to stir the pot and create ratings, but I suspect that it's the way he really is. In addition, his time in Columbus drawing wrath from Buckeye fans - for what he would say is just him telling the truth - has added a lot of vinegar to how he talks about OSU football. I don't think he hates OSU football, but I think he has a ton of bad feelings for OSU football fans who he considers deaf, blind, biased, and pea-brained. So, I think the atmosphere is poisoned between him and Buckeye fans - each side contributing their poison - and that is probably an irreconcilable situation.

Finally, this whole thing about being a murderer is way, way over the line. The guy has criticized the program. Sometimes he was wrong. Sometimes he was right on the facts, but presented them in the wrong tone, and we didn't want to hear it. But there is no justification for playing the murderer card. If Bruce intentionally killed his friend via an accident in a snow storm, then I want to hear it from his dead friend's family. Otherwise, that is just low and way out of bounds.

Being hateful may be an impulse from an unevolved part of our nature, but it is one best resisted - and that goes for Bruce and us. It's ugly.

I can't find a whole lot of sympathy when the crucifier finds himself hanging from the next cross over.

If the guy is going to make a career out of calling out a man like Tressel for an ethical lapse, then he should not be surprised when his own past is dragged out in the open for examination. Not only has he shown no sympathy for someone else's mistake in judgement, he's chosen to build a career and profiteer off of it. He needs to engage in a little self-examination and determine what kind of human being he wants to be.

I don't want to turn all 7-year-old OH10 on you, but HE STARTED IT! He wasn't well liked before this latest affair. People hated his pompous, sanctimonious attitude that he was better than average Buckeye fans because he was being "objective." But he wasn't. He was a self-loathing Ohio State graduate that overcompensated in his negativity about the football program so that he could say he was better than the rest of us.

After the JT's failure to disclose was revealed, he actually compared Ohio State to SMU on the radio... and then had the nerve to be offended that the station would ask him to take a step back and acknowledge his massive overreaction. When he didn't, he got canned. And then he went Super Hooley on Ohio State all around the country. He lined his pockets with money by claiming to be the rational Ohio State guy that could see the Buckeyes and Tressel for the dirty little cheats they really are.

[censored] that and [censored] him. And I resent the implication that I or any other fan had anything to do with how he feels about Ohio State or its fans in particular. That was his fault. And he can eat a bag of dicks for all I care.

There was a time when I agreed with this. But, honestly, it is just a taste of his own medicine. He's the master of unfair, over-the-top labels and reactions. If you're going to dish it out, be prepared to take it... up the ass.

I hate that this stupid ass thread keeps getting bumped to the 'most recent posts' section on the front forum page. I have never heard one second of this douchebag's show and I never care to.

Can this thread be moved to the open discussion (or even referenced locker) so it isn't constantly visible on the main forum page?

thx.
