Caylee Anthony and Lindbergh cases

This is fundamental to our legal system. Prosecutors lying intentionally is not.

Ehhh...I have to disagree with you there. I recently took a traffic violation to trial and the prosecutor lied repeatedly about certain facts of the case (which the judge called him out on and helped me get a not guilty verdict since the jury knew he was lying).

I think BL hit the nail on the head, each side is going to do whatever they can get away with in order to get a W in the courtroom.

Case in point: Duke Lacrosse players' trial.

I think what they're getting at is that, while some (or many) prosecutors will lie to make their case, it is not written into the legal code that they do so. Those are their own personal failings. It is written into the legal code that the accused will have a defense, and that defense is charged with winning the case. It is to be hoped that they do this with simple facts and no lies, but that's not always the case, and again, those are their personal failings, not part of the law.

I didn't say that prosecutors don't lie. I said such behavior is not fundamental to the system.

(It's fundamental to human behavior, I'll give you that.)
