Apple wasn't perfect but I LOVED how close he was to the receiver on most plays. I know this is an exaggeration but last year it felt like we were almost always 2-5 yards from the ball/receiver. So seeing them on top of the receiver is fantastic to my eyes.

I've been told that good WRs use this technique against CBs in that they'll look as though they're locking onto the pass just before they break, leaving the corner looking for a pass that hasn't yet been thrown.

I'm not sure that is entirely accurate, at least in practice.

Pass interference is one of the most subjective calls that there is. If you read the NFL rule book and apply it rigidly, pass interference probably could be called on almost every pass play.

If the WR is running a post-corner route, for example, and sells the post by "looking for the ball," then the DB ends up looking for the ball while the WR is going the other way for an easy touchdown. The DB doesn't even end up blindly flailing at the ball, because he's nowhere near it.

I see it happen every week. Some DB gets torched by a WR selling a double move with his eyes.

Let me answer your question with a question if I may. When the opposing quarterback steps back and throws the ball deep, when the ball is in the air, what do you most likely expect to happen? Pass interference, catch, incomplete, or interception
