I don't think Eli has the speed to get drafted high as a corner in the NFL. Leave early and be a mid round pick at best or stay another year, graduate, get more experience and get drafted roughly the same spot.

That argues for going, not staying - an extra year of salary, a year younger when you get your second contract, a year longer in the League.

Yep. If he gets a 2nd round grade and believes he will get the same next year, then might as well go. If he gets a 2nd round grade and thinks he can get in the 1st round next year, then might want to at least consider coming back.

What if he gets like a 4th round grade though? i think that's more realistic. Or 3rd round grade. Idk, it depends really if he's a 4.45 guy or a 4.5-4.6 guy. NFL doesn't draft CBs high that run below 4.5.

Yeah I think a 3rd or 4th round grade is more likely. He has the physical abbility, just needs to be more consistent. I think if he comes back like Mike Thomas did he a lock for late first round, mid 2nd round.

Mike Doss came back and made a very public committment to his team and coaches. The Apple talk does not sound like Doss at all but I am willing to change my opinion if more info comes out.

Your initial comment was if Apple is even thinking about leaving, he should go. That's just a ridiculous overstatement - all starters that are JR or draft eligible should at least get their grade when able to and contemplating that decision, especially if you already have your degree, is one worth pondering seriously the pro's and con's of each.

He is probably a 4.52 - 4.55 guy but what people forget is that length makes up for speed in a lot of cases at corner, see Richard Sherman. He'll be fine

Yeah, I'm not saying he won't be good, I'm just thinking he's not gonna get drafted as high as he thinks probably. But idk for sure, bigger corners are in demand and if he runs well he could be a 2nd round pick I think.

Please… Richard Sherman might be the best lock down CB in the NFL and when he hits guys they feel it. This is just a bad comparison no matter the speed.

Please… Richard Sherman might be the best lock down CB in the NFL and when he hits guys they feel it. This is just a bad comparison no matter the speed.

I didn't say he was Sherman, the point that was being made was that Apple has length to make up for his lack of top end speed and Sherman was an example of that type of player.
