Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

Sumlin's looking at a better thing and better prospects where he currently is. Houston's been prominently mentioned as part of an expanded AQ Mountain West or (longshot) they replace Missouri in the Big 12.

Either option is better than Cincy

I was in the car a lot today so I decided to turn on 700 wlw to see what was going on. Here is a summary of what I heard:

3:15 pm on the way to my daughter's basketball game:
"Brian Kelly should be ashamed of himself for leaving before the bowl game"

4:30 pm on the way to Sams Club after basketball game:
"I just don't understand how he could leave after saying all week he was happy in Cincinnati."

4:50 pm after Sams on the way to Chipotle:
"It seems like he has had this whole thing in the words for several weeks" (no shit sherlock)

5:20 after chipotle on the way back to the YMCA to pick up my wife's car:
"It should be against NCAA regulations to leave your team before their bowl game"

5:40 at the YMCA getting my wifes car:
700 WLW promo playing the Ohio State fight song with a voice over making fun of Ohio State's play calling and coaching staff. The promo ends "Better Luck next year Buckeyes".

The whole thing really cracks me up. they trashed this guy for 3 straight hours on the radio when everyone outside of Clifton new he was gone the day that Navy beat Notre Dame. I really wanted to call in and ask these them why they thought Kelly would stay for the bowl game when they plucked him from CMU before their bowl game. The guy has shown that he will jump ship if something better comes along...to be surprised/upset by it amuses me.

Oh my poor, deluded little bearcat fan. You honestly believed Kelly when he kept talking about "BCS" and winning a NC in Cincinnati. You poor misled little thing.

Sumlin???
Can somebody help me understand how Sumlin spurned UC to stay coaching at Houston? I'm not following this. We are in a BCS conference, playing in the Sugar bowl and Houston isn't.

Just look in the mirror and repeat after me:

"I am good enough, I am smart enough and gosh darn it people like me".

I have a lot of sympathy for Cincy fans. They've reached dizzy heights this year and it must be disappointing to look ahead to the next steps.

I agree. I don't think anyone outside of Hamilton County is surprised that Sumlin said no.

Snippets from the Land of the Deluded (AKA Bearcat Banter):

RE: UC Football Coaching Search

I really have a bad feeling about this potential hire, and we as the fans who have helped take the program to the next step need to make our voices known loud and clear to the athletic department.
:slappy: :slappy: :slappy: Show me one pass any of these stupid fuckers has caught for a TD. Hell, show me a game they bothered to buy tickets to until it became evident they were front-runners for a BCS bowl.
RE: UC Football Coaching Search
Fan expectations are through the roof now after back to back BCS games. The BE only has one good bowl game. It took an undefeated team to finally start selling out Nippert... If so, this job isn't nearly as good as any of us think it us.
No shit. It's a job someone won't bolt from Conference-freaking-USA to get. Maybe you Bearcat fans will get a clue now.

RE: Glad to see Cincy's finest are stepping up - losers
Kelly's such an assehole it's unreal. If someone had burned the house down or killed his dog, than yes, that would be too far. Eggs??? Sounds like something some neighborhood kids did. Good for them.

...and the conspiracy theorists:

RE: Glad to see Cincy's finest are stepping up - losers
Weis and his family got threats while he was at Notre Dame. Wait until BK loses a few games up there, he'll redefine what he considers offensive.
And, who knows if it really happened or not. The guy is a liar, and I don't believe a word he says. Could be the wonder PR firm he hired to get the ND job spreading more rumors, just like they did with the "UC did nothing to keep me" bull.

Now, they're too good for the Big Ten:confused:

Giger: Big Ten should add Cincinnati

This guy must not get ouy of Altoona much:

^ Maybe someone should tell him that we want nothing to do with the Big11.

Naturally, if they don't get in--not that they want to--we are to blame....

tOSU would never allow it.
OSU holds the trump card and they absolutely will not permit it.

Any addition to the conference I'm sure would have to be unanimous. No way OSU lets that happen.

Of course, it their lack of candidacy has nothing to do with academics....

From an academic standpoint, it actually makes quite a bit of sense. UC is one of the top research universities in the US

Ummm, you're not even one of the top research universities in Ohio. You're third or fourth depending on how one wants to rank.
