Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

Reports: Johnny Manziel's party the source of Josh Gordon, other Browns' tardiness

The Browns quarterback, who last week was placed on IR with a hamstring injury, reportedly threw a big party Friday night ahead of Cleveland's season finale in Baltimore on Sunday — that explains wide receiver Josh Gordon's one-game suspension for missing a walk-through practice Saturday.

Cleveland.com on Sunday morning confirmed a CBS report that Manziel, who was fined an undisclosed amount for missing scheduled treatment of his hamstring, indeed threw the party, and that Gordon and other unnamed players attended.

The Browns had to send security to Manziel's home after he failed to show up at the team facility or answer his phone, according to Cleveland.com.

The man is a fucking moron. Its going to be a battle next year to see who will be the biggest drama queen: Johnny Football or Jameis Winston.

Crab legs will probably be playing next year if he isn't in jail. Tap-out might be lucky to be on a roster. Given his antics I don't see how you go into a season with him being your primary option at QB. Hopefully this proves to Haslam that he is an idiot at football and he keeps his nose out of the draft. Complete wasted pick.

This.

In my career field your intellect and knowledge your crew position duties goes a very long way in establishing yourself. However, its maturing and self-control that really earn you respect. I see it no differently than that of someone playing QB. You are looked at to be the leader and the face of a team. No respectable business wants a million dollar fuck up representing their entire organization when they can't even properly represent themselves in their own choices.

The kid is riding a tidal wave of money and high draft pick right now. He still thinks its like college where he will get chance after chance. He won't 'get it' until he gets cut from a team and those paychecks stop rolling in.

Give Pettine credit for the fact his team hasn't quit. Baltimore still has something to play for and just got stuffed at the goal line.
Overall, this staff has gotten a ton out of the roster. Considering injuries and all the "needs" they still have (QB, #1 WR). 7 wins? Probably the easiest schedule in league, but still.

On the other hand, just amazing how much of a dumpster fire it still seems to be- feels like they are hanging on by a thread and ready to unravel this offseason. They'll be at square 1 again next Fall.
