College Football Playoff (2015-16 Season)

The Big 12 absolutely does not get enough hate for their lack of marquee wins OOC the last 2 years. Not including bowls, do people realize that the biggest win for the entire conference OOC was against 8-5 Minnesota last year or a Tenn team that hopes to be 8-4 this year? And including bowls, yes TCU thumped Ole Miss (who finished 9-4) in a NY6 bowl, but other the only other win during their 2-5 showing was against 8-5 Washington. So the entire conference hasn't beaten a OOC opponent that finished with at least 10 wins in the past 2 years. If there isn't absolute chaos, there is no way a 1-loss team from the Big 12 should be getting in the playoff.

Bama lower B12 teams higher.

Also I'm calling it now Northwestern ranked like they should be.
Alabama has wins at Texas A&M, at Georgia, and against Wisconsin at a neutral site. That's better than the single best wins of Ohio State, TCU, and Baylor put together, sadly. Looking back at this, I probably ought to have Ohio State #5, but our strength of schedule hasn't been there, but it's better than TCU and Baylor. Luckily, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan look like they're going to finish highly in the MAC. If NIU can pull off a big upset over Toledo tonight (yes, tonight...), that will certainly help us.

One thing I noticed looking back at last year's rankings... there were only two unbeaten ranked teams during the CFP's initial rankings.

TWO.

This year we have eleven. No matter where anyone is ranked this week, it's really irrelevant. There is going to be a TON of movement over the next few weeks, especially teams like those in the Big Ten and Big 12 learning to back-load their schedules.

My guess on the top four in the initial CFP rankings this week:
1) Clemson
2) LSU
3) Michigan State
4) Alabama

Next four out:
TCU
Baylor
Ohio State
Notre Dame
No way is Michigan State ranked ahead of us...no way. We've done better overall against the three common opponents we've had so far (WMU, Indiana, Rutgers). Our best win is the 38-10 beatdown of the Pedsters, who are now 7-2 and whose only other loss was against a now-we-know-they're-legit Temple. Sparty's best win is a toss up between Oregon (who really ain't shit this year) and Michigan (which was one of the luckiest fluke-assed wins of all time).

They've got a win over a ranked (and at that time, "en fuego") That Team on the road. You can argue that an unranked PSU in The Horseshoe is a similar or better win than that, but I disagree. If the Nits had beaten Temple and gone into the game against us unbeaten (like they SHOULD have in any other universe) instead of epically failing like they did, I'd argue Ohio State would have the better win over MSU.

Like I said though, this initial ranking is irrelevant. We were freaking SIXTEENTH in the initial poll last year and only one team out of the four in the initial poll made it into the playoff (FSU). And if that wasn't enough, the CFP poll is going to be even more caustic this year based on the amount of teams that haven't lost a game yet compared with last year.

If we win out, we're not arguing semantics. We're in.

"en fuego", aka "overrated". Sparty won that game only because of a one-in-a-million fluke fuckup, whilst we flat beat the shit out of the pretty decent team.

Have you even been paying attention at all to this season? Temple has proved themselves to be a legit team, very worthy of a top-25 ranking.
