Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Time to give the surging Columbus Blue Jackets and coach John Tortorella some love

Love for the Jackets:
Isn't it time we started to give the Columbus Blue Jackets and head coach John Tortorella some well-deserved love? Tortorella took a lot of heat along with the rest of Team USA for their lifeless performance at the World Cup of Hockey. But after losing their first two games of the regular season, the Blue Jackets have gone 10-2-2, including Sunday's 3-2 win over the defending Presidents' Trophy-winning Washington Capitals. That win marks four in a row for a team that leads the NHL in power-play efficiency (they scored one with the man advantage Sunday) and is second in goals scored per game. With a sterling 7-2-2 record at home, it means the accursed Columbus Civil War cannon is going off like crazy at Nationwide Arena. Sunday's win wrapped up a weekend that also saw them knock off the red-hot New York Rangers on Friday night. The Blue Jackets are for real.

OK, I've seen them have too many ""crash and burn" seasons, does anyone actually believe that the Blue Jackets are for real now?

And here come the CBJ we are all used to. Playing like shit at home versus bad teams.

Two awful turnovers at their own blue line lead to a 2-0 deficit despite out-shooting Calgary by a bunch.

And now headed back to the PK.

Well they survived the 6 games in 9 days stretch with 8 points.

Wennberg is having a nice season distributing so far, He's tied for 3rd in the league in assists and currently leads the league in power play assists (only 20 games I know but it's a good start)

Atkinson and Foligno are also off to nice starts with 20 and 19 points in the first 20 games. (Wennberg is also at 19)

Werenski's 16 points (5 goals 11 assists) in his first 20 games are good for 6th among defense men currently (tops among Rookie D-Men)

Hopefully they can keep it up. 3 of their next 4 are against Colorado and Arizona......need to get wins against the bad teams.
