Yes. Yes. Yes. A typical college student is going to study and have fun and try to keep their grades up. College is really easy. I don't care what you are there for. It's easy. Most college kids go there for 4-6 years have fun and try to find a job that pays 30-100k a year when they get out. High profile athletes work their asses off. They kill themselves working 80+ hours a week. They are there for 3-5 years and are looking at million dollar contracts. They aren't typical college kids. If you want that money you need to grow up quick. If you want to go out and have fun. Fine. No one is taking that opportunity away from you. But you are looking at a 5 figure income and need to be ok with that. Even league minimum is more than most college kids hope to ever make. I would happily trade my 6 years of fun for 4 years of hell and a league min contract.

I'm not even sure what you're trying to say here. If you're trying to present some kind of argument that partying and getting paid are mutually exclusive, decades of NFL history shows that's not the case. If it's an argument that he doesn't know what it takes to get to the NFL, I think he has a better grasp on that than any of us given his upbringing. If it's an argument that he's costing himself money down the road, I'm not why any of us should care. To me that kind of thing is just a way for fans to say that he owes it to us to be on the field against Hawai'i, reframed as something that we should think he owes to himself. It's patronizing.

Bosa and a average college student only have one thing in common .....their age! Bosa can act any way he wants its really not the Coach or School or Conference that suspends a player..the player knows the rules and the risks. Meyer has pounded on the table every year the player makes the choice.

I'm not pretending to know more about the NFL than bosa. I'm not trying to say the NFL is exclusive to partying but how many great athletes have fucked up their career or dropped their draft status from partying. My response was to the "college kids will be college kids. we all did dumb stuff in college and drank and partied and maybe got arrested". High profile athletes aren't normal college kids because they have a lot more on the line. Things like smoking some pot or skipping class or getting smashed and urinating on a tree/ cop car. College kids will be kids. If I got arrested for pissing on a tree or had a case of brown bottle flue or skipped a week of class to take a road trip it didn't matter. High profile athletes don't get to do that because it can cost them game time it can cost them a season it can get them kicked off the team. College athletes don't get the kids will be kids in a world we currently live in. The media is a bitch the ncaa has an enormouse rule book and PR is almost as important as performing (ask tebow). They have to be smarter and work harder than college kids. None of this seems to be bosa. He has been smart but it seems like he screwed something up to get suspended week 1 and being in a situation where he could get arrested could really turn out bad. I'm sure nothing will come of it and week 2 he will be playing. We have seen too many players screw up their careers for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Meyer has said repeatedly dont put yourself in those situations.

I agree with this. Saying these kids should live like Monks to remove any slim possibility of being in the wrong place at the wrong time is a slippery slope to being the "don't worry about that bullshit and go get me another championship" fool that Cardale had the decency to stand up to. They're in college. Go to parties. Drink beer. Bang broads. As long as they're not breaking team rules, have some god damned fun.

I'm sure some meathead cop got a few shots bought for him at the cop bar in Obetz when he regaled his buddies about how tough he was fucking with the football player.

I'd be all-in with this if not for already being on suspension.
You'd kind of hope in that situation that a leader on the team would put some distance between those situations/influences and try to be a "model citizen" for awhile.
One incident is a fluke, two incidents and a pattern starts to develop...
Either way he's a grown man and it's his choice(s). Just hope it really isn't anything and he thoroughly enjoys what we're all assuming is his last year at Ohio State.

Might be a good thing for Bosa long term now that I think about it. He really has to hone in on the minor details and technique this season and in turn teach it to those guys. Players often become much better players when they become a part-time coach as well.
