DE Keith Wells (Columbus State; transfer to Ohio Dominican)

If my memory serves me right, Doug didn't seem real mature when he first got to tOSU and during his time here unfortunatly made some mistakes, one of them being a DUI charge. But in his senior year he really stepped up and became a leader of the defense and played very well, at least in my opinion. I will always respect what Doug did for this football team and university. He was an asset to the program and community. Hopefully Keith will turn some of his troubles into teaching points for himself and not take anything for granted. I think he will succeed. I for one am excited to see he is coming back and helping to fill a need of expereince on the D-line.

I think you might be confusing him with Abdallah or someone else. IIRC, Doug had no character issues. Started since his sophomore year and his DUI came his senior year(which was a very uncharacteristic mistake).

Anyway, Keith has a real opportunity to help the team this year.

I Watched Keith alot in the Spring Game and physically he looks ready and had some pretty good speed. Hopefully after the suspensions we can have a rotation at end with Wells, Thomas, Fellows, along with Simon, Nasty Nate, Big Hank, Bellamy. Idk but i have a weird but good feeling about this defense. With this Very fast D-line. 3 unexperienced Linebackers but with great Talent. And now a pretty deep secondary with Moeller,Barnett,Bryant,O.J.,Howard,Grant,Allen. This could be a good Year. Too early to tell but who cares. :osu:

Keith Wells update

by Aaron on Aug.09, 2011, under News

I just spoke to Keith Wells who visited UK?s practice the other day. Wells informed me the visit was great and UK is talking to him about playing the ?hybrid? position. Keith informed me he is 6?5″ and 257 lbs. He has been talking to UK for quite some time, which means my sources were correct. Wells is working on getting all of his paper work together for UK to review. He will have two years of eligibility left. Nothing is official yet, but things look very promising.
