DE Se'Von Pittman (transfer to Akron)

Good for him. I always like to hear about guys coming in from high school and getting their feet wet with regards to college classes. High school to college is a big jump for any student, let alone a kid who has a full plate of football. Having them come in early and get used to the scene makes the transition better, IMO.

He may be the answer to a trivia question - Who was the last OSU football player to enroll at spring quarter just in time for spring practice? With the transition to semesters coming, they'll have to enroll in January or probably not until summer or fall after spring practice.

Pittman sidelined

Sa’Von Pittman missed most of Wednesday’s practice and came on the field near the end. However, Pittman is limited and may be shut down for the rest of spring. He sprained his MCL and was wearing a brace on his left knee. “He was doing well,” Meyer said. “We were going to try to get him back next week, but I don’t think he’s going to make it the rest of spring practice.”

Bump.

Didn't hear much at all regarding Pittman after fall training. With our defense losing a healthy amount of experience after this season, especially along the defensive front, I'm hoping Pittman can gain ground heading into 2013. Williams, Simon, and Goebel graduate, Hankins is potentially gone. Spence and Washington gained great experience this season, Schutt gained some. Bennett staying healthy is crucial, he and Washington are the future of the d-line (interior), w/Schutt right in the mix. Love our talent base at these positions.

Wondering where Pittman is at in terms of development? Very very early for him, I know.
