If only we would have offered 6-7 months ago, he would probably be a Buckeye. Still dont get why we never did...
6-7 months ago we had a lame duck coach and no clear direction. I'm not sure he would have been so quick to jump on an offer at that point.

Tressel should have offered this kid a year ago...

It's true.

The laziness in recruiting has really been brought to light over the last month. To see what a motivated staff can do at Ohio State has been pretty amazing to watch.

Anyone that thinks that Dymonte won't at least listen is kidding themselves. Bank knows what he's talking about and doesn't blow smoke a la Tom Beaver. Anyone that pays money for that clown's information may as well throw it out the window. 50.1%?!?!?! You have to be kidding me. scUM can think what they want about Kalis, but I will always maintain that he wanted scUM from the get go and didn't know how to go about it. Once the stuff hit the fan with Tressel he saw his chance and jumped ship. Fine by me.

Dymonte is an Ohio kid and THAT can't be ignored.

That's hardly fair. One of the most successful ten year runs in tOSU history wasn't built by "lazy" people by any stretch of the imagination. JT and staff just had a different approach. Seemed to work out ok for us.

Yeah, can't say the staff as a whole was "lazy" by any stretch...they just had a different approach. And, by and large, it worked very well. One exception would be the OL recruiting. I don't know what happened there the last year or two, but it got them in a bind that, fortunately, the new staff has headed back in the right direction.

That's what I was meaning about "laziness."

The OL recruiting in particular, but also the Ohio State sells itself approach. Maybe we are being spoiled, but UM put this class together in two months time.

Again, laziness might have been the wrong word, but I think the last two months put the previous staff in kind of a bad light.

Adding into that he was the top source for info on the Dunn recruitment...

To add on to that, Bank is the best because he builds relationships with the student athletes and their families and has their best interest at heart.

He doesn't drop stories on players wanting to hold back information to get a scoop on someone, he doesn't blow smoke for the sake of Ohio State's fan base.

The fact that he was the inside source on Dunn means that Bank is close with the family and if he thinks Dymonte will follow Brionte, I am sure he bases that on some very, very solid inside knowledge straight from the source(s).

The overall climate in NE Ohio is so pro OSU, it is hard to believe if you don't live here. Both my son's elementary and middle school's principles, had offices of wall to wall OSU stuff. The Friday before the game in middle school was spirit day. One year only two students didn't wear OSU gear. At youth football, half the parents are wearing OSU gear.

I teach here too. I refer to Michigan as either that state up north or the mitten state during lessons on the War of 1812. That is the climate here.

And he was trying to get Dunn to attend Michigan with him, not just the same school.
And now Dunn is trying to get Dymonte to attend Ohio State with him. Kinda neat how these streets go both ways.

And I understand this is an Ohio State site/board, but one more year of this - wow, it's going to be entertaining.
Yep. After 1,000 "Dymonte is all blue!" posts, the Michigan man meltdown will be epic when he flips to Ohio State.

Wow. Well, if Bill Greene says so...

Listen to Sam Webb though, right?? That's what you told me the other day...

His relationship with Shane Morris can't be ignored. It's pretty legit.

Whatever his relationship with The Situation is, I'm sure he's been close with Brionte juuuuuuuuuuust a tad longer... Blood is thicker than whatever The Situation is swapping.

And? Not sure what this matters. We saw how it worked out with the new sheriff in town too, didn't we?

Maybe Michigan still has a chance for Dunn...

I actually saw a post on Stadium & Main the other night where people were hoping that was the "Signing Day Surprise" that was predicted over there... Then a kindly Buckeye fan reminded them that Brionte is already enrolled in school, lol...

I'll never understand the need of opposing fans to go to their rival's board to try to change their opinions. It's just silly to me...

Calm down, calm down. He's not trying to turn anybody into a Michigan fan, he's just offering the other side of the argument. And it's not like he's making outlandish claims - the player in question is still a Michigan verbal. I joined BuckeyePlanet because it's the only free recruiting board I've found where people have intelligent conversations and threads don't just deteriorate into "you're stupid because you don't root for my team" after the third post.
