F Mickey Mitchell (transfer to Arizona State)

Landing Mike? Awesome.
Having a Mitchell pipeline? Unfair.
Huge inroads with the 2015 #1 Rb also from Plano? Inconceivable.

It seems to me that Soso has a huge motivation to come to tOSU: he won't have to worry about Mike tackling him during a game.

"Mickey's court vision, his court sense, his basketball IQ are all unbelievable," said Anthony Morgan, West head coach.

Mickey was no slouch on the football field either, throwing for 1,855 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 773 yards and 11 touchdowns with the Lions as a sophomore in 2012 before tearing his ACL in November against Bishop Lynch.

Mickey underwent surgery Nov. 30.

"I'm feeling a lot better," Mickey said. "The main thing right now is to get my conditioning back up."

College coaches clearly took note of his recovery.

"I thought once Mickey tore his ACL, all of this would ease up," Mr. Mitchell said. "But come June 15, everyone was banging on our door."

Among those schools were Kentucky, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Baylor and Duke, schools described by Mr. Mitchell as the other "finalists" before Mickey chose Ohio State.

There is an outside shot Mickey could still join his brother on the gridiron one day.

Mickey said he, "won't play football this year," but didn't rule it out as a senior.

"I honestly don't think Mickey knows the answer to that question right now," Mr. Mitchell said. "We'll see."

Regardless, Mickey has now pledged to be at the same school as Mike.

"It'll be great for those two to be together again," Mr. Mitchell said. "The food bill should go down with Mike and Mickey out of the house, but my wife (Candy) just said we're going to have to buy a lot of new Ohio State stuff, so I think the cost will probably be a wash."

what an awesome player. thank you for becoming a buckeye, mickey!

i have nothing to cite, but i think this commitment just about guarantees a killer center.

Do you think Mickey knows Myles Turner very well? I looked it up, they're only a 30-minute drive apart (both live near Dallas)
