"The bag or the bat, Bob?"
  • Thinking about this game versus USC got me thinking about some teams I would love to have on our OOC schedule in the future. Of the given choices, what would be your?

Personally, I went with Bama so that we could repay Nick Saban for his victory against us in 1998.

I'd vote for 'All of the above' except for Boise St. and Appalachian St.

But I'd rank them 'Bama, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, LSU in terms of where I'd like to go to experience a game.

I picked Boise State because I lived in Idaho for ten years and I found the majority of their fans to be completely delusional. They don't have any real understanding of where they actually fall in the college football pecking order. They tend to view Boise State as a top level team that could stack up against anybody. I must have heard how they would whip Ohio State's Ass 100 times the year they beat Oklahoma. I would enjoy watching us kick the snot out of them.

Alabama. Against the SEC teams listed, our record is:

    Alabama: 0-3 (including a 35-6 ass beating in 1978)
    Georgia: 0-1 (21-14 loss)
    Florida: 0-1 (41-14 loss)
    LSU: 1-1-1

There are two SEC teams against whom I think we need "payback": Alabama and Florida, but since Alabama is 3-0 against us, we to play them first.

If it was up to me we'd have home and home series against Florida, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee over a 12 year period.

Not in addition to the one's we already have scheduled - playing two top 20 OOC teams is foolish under the polls system because you can lose a lot more than you can gain - but instead of the Virginia Tech, Miami, etc..
