Actually everyone knows that last year he wore down by the end of the season, hes even said so himself multiple times. Just because he can carry it fine the first 8 weeks doesnt mean that hes invincible and its not taking a toll on his body for the final 4...

I'm glad they stuck with Smith, despite all the calls for Zwick.

Scary thing is, Smith started 3/11. He finished the game with a ho-hum 10 completions on his last 10 attempts. Not bad...I guess.

Last year's stats.

I know he said he wore down last year. Most Freshman do.

Anything else you'd like to add?

yes, just because he's done a very good job so far does not mean that he's invincible. has anyone here claimed that he's invincible? yes, of course the first eight games have taken a toll on his body. the first eight games have taken a toll on all the players' bodies. however, last year was last year, and pittman was a freshman then. another year of experience and work will likely yield a more resilient runner. all running backs show wear toward the end of the season, but i have yet to see anything from pittman that shows he's wearing down more relatively. if you search pittman posts, you'll see that much earlier in the season posters were commenting about his getting up slowly and gingerly. nothing to worry about.

Exactly, and if he was "wearing down" I think he'd be a little easier to tackle at this point. On almost every run he is chugging forward for an extra yard or two after being hit. And that first TD jaunt was the best run we've seen out of an OSU back in some time.

I liked his first one, where HE delivered the blow. Guys who are hurtin too much don't lower the boom like that.

what nearly impressed me more than his lowering the boom was the balance with which he was able to do it. i saw virtually no recoil on pittman's part. most running backs would absorb a lot of the hit and either be bounced out of bounds or at least slowed down for the defenders to approach. pittman just went on with his business.
