    Brittain Road gas station robbed

    Beacon Journal staff report

A man described being 50 to 60 years old robbed an Akron gas station Thursday night by flashing a gun he carried in a brown paper bag.

The clerk on duty Thursday night at the BP gas station in the 1400 block of Brittain Road said at around 7:30 p.m. an older-looking man entered the station and approached the front counter carrying a paper bag. The man opened the bag to show the clerk the handgun inside.

When we were first married and moved to Akron, one of the many jobs I took was working at a gas station. Periods of boredom interrupted by the occasional wacko who couldn't/wouldn't pay. Got pissed at some wise ass who was breaking my balls about not paying and I threatened to hosed him down.
I had a lighter, also!
Got fired the next day. :slappy:

Ah yes , I remember robbing gas stations in Akron. Those guys used to have to sit around all day waiting for customers. I never paid. once some guy threatened to hose me down, I just laughed at him. Heard he got fired the next day .

Akron police are asking anyone with information to call 330-375-2490.
I read that and the image that comes to mind is Chief Wiggums eating a donut, sitting by a phone ..

I don't know squat about Akron although I've driven through on I-77 a million times. Always thought there was a joke lurking in the Whipple & Everhard sign, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet.
