Until we're reminded of it, again, at the end of the 2012 regular season.

Truthfully, certain networks and websites or publications won't let you forget it, regardless of the year.

It could be 2015, and certain columnists (most likely online and most likely working for ESPN or CBS) will keep hammering it home, more than likely saying "Ohio State got off easy."

But I guess one way to avoid it is to not watch or read :wink2:

Anyone feeling any calmer this morning? Time to put those involved in all aspects of this behind us and move forward.

No, just the day after and certain individuals and entire departments need to be assessed immediately and not in June after the academic year.

I realize most administrative staff changes occur over the summer, but at the least, get interim members in there now and start the departmental (Compliance) changes.

that type of thing will result in warnings or infractions.

Being a former member of the BPCOI, I don't expect a one year Romper Room ban so i will not self impose one. I've researched back to the 2007 season.

So it's probably not a good idea to mix drinking with posting in this thread.

Well jeez. I am certainly not going to stop drinking...

So if we want to organize an Occupy the Oval protest to demand the firing of Gene Smith, do we do it in this thread or does something like that deserve a thread of its own? Decisions, decisions...

I am ready for an Occupy the NCAA in Indy if anyone wants to go.....I can be there in 30....

I'm still kind of mad at the University of Oregon (or Phil Knight) for driving up Gene Smith's price last year.

Even him flirting with Oregon caused NCAA sanctions with the Ducks

Mike Cleary, the executive director of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, said he's been around ADs for 46 years, and during Smith's time as a NACDA leader "he was as sharp as anybody we've ever had."

Has anyone seen this article?

http://www.wtsp.com/news/article/223189/4/Ohio-State-delays-Meyer-hiring-process
ORLANDO, Fla. (WKMG) - While former University of Florida coach Urban Meyer is still in line to become the next coach at Ohio State in the coming days, WKMG Sports Director David Pingalore has learned from sources close to the situation that a rift between Meyer and OSU Athletic Director Gene Smith could be delaying the hiring process.

According to sources, Meyer originally sought to have Smith removed from his position as AD as a prerequisite for him accepting OSU's head coaching position.

Smith has been the AD at Ohio State in 2005 and is considered one of the most powerful men in college athletics.

According to sources close to the situation, Ohio State President E. Gordon Gee balked at Meyer's demands that Smith be out as the AD.
