HB Dontre 'DeSoto' Wilson (Official Thread)

100% agreed. I too have been watching this several times. Dontre is surrounded. He crawls/scoots away and is surrounded again. Thru the first 14 seconds, there are always way more sCUM folk around. The refs are incapable of controlling the situation.

The only point of reference I have is the videos of the Minnesota/OSU basketball game in 1972, which though more severe, is the only other time I have seen flagrant malice.
The most telling moment was when Wilson slipped and moved forward with a sudden jerk (well, 7 or 8 jerks). The Michigan group surrounding him moved quickly with him. It wasn't as though they were after a fumble or something because there was no contact. It was as though they were trying to maintain an assigned position.

Also note the persistence with which Jenkins-Stone went after the helmet and how he then retreated. I don't believe that was cowardice. It was another assigned role given to a player whose absence would not be a major factor.

When reviewed by the B1G / NCAA it may very well be suspensions for some of the scUM players for their bowl game. Anyone watching the footage in slow motion sees that scUM was the aggressor's and the Ohio State players were defending themselves. PERIOD.

Get Dontre the ball and let the track meet begin. This is a perfect game to exploit tempo changes and Hyde, Brax, and Dontre fit the bill. Put them on an indoor track meet and let 'em go. Would love to use MSU speed on defense against them too if they are overly agressive in pursuit. I expect this to be Urb and Hermans finest hour.

This incident should be a HUGE learning experience for Wilson

1) Hit the weight room - they picked on smallest player on the field
2) Careful about twitter taunting - scUM had nothing to lose
3) Think TEAM first, EGO second - doesn't matter who was right
4) Much better understanding about THE RIVALRY
5) This week is a great way to get back at scUM & into NC game

Not only what you said, but because of MSU's love of blitzing, should create some big mismatches for smith and philly. And dontre should see time in the slot as well. I believe we have more speed on offense than they do on defense

The Decoy of the Year: Dontre Wilson's speed helped Ohio State, but the freshman wanted more touches

“I always joked around with my teammates and said, ‘I’m the Decoy of the Year,’ ” Wilson said. “Every time I do a fake or something, we scored.”

Ohio State scored on two different plays in the Orange Bowl that first faked to Wilson, a 33-yard touchdown run by quarterback Braxton Miller and a 57-yard touchdown strike to tight end Jeff Heuerman.

Wilson’s speed is so drastic, so imposing, that it has a way of freezing opponents.
